I know people hated it when Chandler was crying a lot and yet today when he was wiping those tears away it was beautifully timed and perfect.

There’s a scene that I like where Will is looking out the window which speaks volumes of how much he’s thinking about this momentous time of coming out to his parents.
The thing that bothers me the most with people criticizing Will’s tears is that CM has repeatedly mentioned in interviews that he has friends who are gay and he talks to them about it so he can be better immersed into his character. It’s possible that his friends have gone through this same kind of tears of emotion. When posters start mocking Will’s tears do they realize that they could also be making fun of other people in the process who are also struggling with their sexuality? I understand that some people dislike Will because of his attitude which is fine they don’t have to like him but it’s annoying to me when they start nitpicking on the tears.

We like those smiles more I guess. He really has a wonderful smile.
The acting choices Chandler gave us in yesterdays scenes left me thinking why oh why couldn't Sami have been there but if she had then he wouldn't have been able to show us how he felt like he was slapped and unloved by his own mother.
Right now I am seeing him first when Gabi broke up with him and his walking in HTS and kicking those tables. Then another great day was how he reacted at first when he thought all of those people died. Those hurt and angry moments gave us a look into a deeper psyche. It has to be moments like that when he made those rash decisions like get a gun shoot EJ, blackmail a DiMera and then work with Stefano for whatever purpose. It makes you wonder does he need to have these anger issues addressed so he doesn't one day do another ugly decision that someone won't be able to cover or hide.

I firmly believe that the tears tie in with the fact that he’s dealing with high emotions of him being gay and talking to other people about it. I’m sure that once his family & friends know more himself he won’t be as highly emotional like that and have more confidence.
I want so badly that this relationship between Will & Sami to be different from Sami & Marlena. People have been complaining that MarDar (or TPTB) have been giving us nothing but recycled s/l and it would be wonderful if Will & Sami can break that cycle.

Chandler Massey’s portrayal of Will Horton is amazing! I can honestly say that I have said every word and felt every emotion that he has expressed since this storyline began including questioning if I want a relationship with anyone, wondering why I am different, wishing I was straight, trying to fight my feelings, withdrawing from friends and family, and not being able to talk to anyone about my feelings.
While some people criticize the tears Chandler sheds as too much, the tears Will sheds are real for those of us struggling to come out. Not many days have gone by recently when I have not shed tears because the coming out process is extremely emotional. It is really a kind of purgatory. Pretending to be someone you are not is exhausting and will eventually eat you alive. But telling family and friends is no easy task because you don’t want to hurt them or make them wonder what they did wrong.
In summary, BRAVO! to Chandler for showing the viewers a real portrayal of what someone goes through when coming out of the closet. I hope he wins the Emmy award - he deserves it.

Thank you for the response on the tears. I wish people who are gay would post more often because I’m not gay and all I’m doing is making guesses to what he might be feeling & doing.
I agree about CM’s portrayal of a newly coming out of the closet young man, I hope he gets recognized for that Emmy.

Here’s a quote from CM’s reaction to being nominated. Source: michaelfairmansoaps.com michaelfairmansoaps.com/media/special-events/39th-annual-daytime-emmys/39th-annu... /> CM: “I woke up at around 7:30am and called my publicist, Jeff Ballard. He told me I was not nominated! And I was like, “Oh man. That is a bummer.” But then he told me was joking and that I was nominated. (Laughs) My mom and my dad both knew, so they called me and they were very happy. I am happy that my scenes struck a chord with the voters. The first round, for the pre-noms, I submitted the scene with Will and Gabi, when Gabi breaks up with Will. And then, for the next and final round, I submitted the episode that aired on December 30th, 2011. There were Will and Marlena scenes in it, and a bit of Will and Sonny at the end of it. What happens in it is; Marlena and Will meet up and they are talking about her and John, and then it goes into more of her listening to Will and his problems, and why things didn’t work with Gabi. At that point, he comes close to admitting that he is gay, but he has to leave. Then he is at the pub and Sonny comes in with Tyler and Will sees that new dynamic between them. I liked it because I thought it had a range of scenes, and I thought it was not over the top. I also went with this episode because my mom told me it was her favorite episode. I took her advice. It is an honor to be nominated, but I have always been more about the acting then the accolades.” ******End quote
I thought it was sweet that Chandler went with his mom’s favorite . A little different than what we’re seeing with Will & Sami now.
