A Valentine's Day movie.
Soaps.com has learned that "Days of our Lives'" Jen Lilley (Theresa Donovan) will star in Hallmark's "A Dash of Love" on Saturday February 11 at 9:00 PM. The film is about an aspiring chef named Nikki Turner (Lilley) who lands an assistant job at her idol Holly Hanson's (Peri Gilpin) restaurant. Nikki is convinced her big break is just around the corner. After a rocky start, she befriends the handsome executive chef Paul Bellucci (Brendan Penny) and they begin bonding in the kitchen. Nikki's joy is short lived when she discovers her idol is stealing her recipes to pass off as her own. She fires Nikki and Paul to protect her secret. Together, Nikki and Paul set out to create their own pop up restaurant and discover the most important ingredient is love.
Lilley previously starred in the Lifetime holiday movie The Spirit of Christmas and more recently the channel's courtroom thriller Mommy, I Didn't Do It, which featured several other daytime stars. She also is slated to appear in the upcoming film "The Wedding Do Over." Jen Lilley left Days of our Lives in November 2016 when her character left town with a former lover and drug lord Mateo. Mateo threatened those she loved, including Brady Black and their son Tate if she didn't do as he wanted.
Lilley's co-star Brendan Penny appeared in Hallmark's series Chesapeake Shores as Kevin O'Brien. The show also featured Jesse Metcalfe ("Passions'" Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald, and Christopher Ewing on TNT's "Dallas") and Barbara Niven ("One Life to Live's" Liz Coleman Reynolds, and Brenda Dickerson on "Bold and the Beautiful"). Lilley's nemesis in the film is played by Peri Gilpin, who many may recognize as Roz Doyle from "Frasier."
