Coming to Salem.
Updated November 4:
Thursday November 12, Alexander Bruszt will make his debut on "Days of our Lives" as the mysterious doctor, Fynn Thompson. About his role, Bruszt told Courier Mail, "He’s a good doctor and looks after everyone." The actor won't just be staying for the originally planned three months. The show has given him an extension. The actor says, "They had accommodation for me and that was about to end, so I thought ‘okay, I’m going to start packing up.’ But I just thought I’d call them and say, ‘am I coming or going?’ and the producer said you’ve got another cycle, which was great. Didn’t expect it, but I kind of felt like they had left me hanging in the storyline. I can’t say much about how he affects the storylines, but he’s winding his way through Salem and there’s a fair bit of mystery about this guy. There’s something brewing and he might end up coming out with something people didn’t expect."
Updated April 27:
Alexander Bruszt has been selected for the role of Finn. He will begin shooting material during the week of May 18. Viewers can expect his scenes to start airing in late October or early November.
Original article April 8:
Foxtel's Arena channel, the producers of "Days of our Lives," Corday Productions Inc. and Sony Pictures Television have narrowed down their search for Australian talent to three finalists to take a starring role on "Days of our Lives." Following a three week long campaign by Arena, including over 300 entries, three actors have been selected to fly to LA for a screen test. Alexander Bruszt ("Home and Away"), Andrew Steel ("The Justice Lease") and Tom Dalzell ("Wonderland") will each be auditioning to play the role of Flynn. Described as "a handsome, rugged Australian doctor" he will arrive in Salem to do his residency under the supervision of Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian).
The role will last for 13 weeks and culminate during the show's 50th anniversary celebrations in November.
