Deidre Hall (Jill Johnson)
Deidre Hall was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is best known for her portrayal of Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of Our Lives. She began the role in 1976 leaving in 1987 and returned in 1991.
Hall was raised in lake Worth, Florida as one of three children. Twin sister Andrea, a former actress, played the role of Samantha Evans opposite Deidre from 1977-1982. Brother John died in 1999. Shortly after her high school graduation she moved to Southern California to pursue acting. Her first feature role was Electra Woman on the 1976 series Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Hall's first foray into the soap world came as an original cast member on the Young and the Restless where she played Barbara Anderson from 1973 to 1975. Hall also played the lead of Jessica Witherspoon on Our House from 1986-1988.
Hall has been married 3 times most recently to Steve Sohmer whom she divorced in 2005. Sohmer and Hall have two children via surrogacy. Son David was born in 1992 and son Tully followed in 1995. She portrayed herself in a TV movie based on the birth of her first son entitled Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story.
Outside of acting Hall is well known for her beauty and poise. She has graced the covers of many magazines and been named both Best Dressed Woman and one of America's Most Beautiful Women by TVGuide. Hall has been the spokesperson for multiple products.
