The dramatic primetime soap opera, Dallas, had a successful first run from 1978-1991 and returned after 21 years on TNT to continue the story which revolved around the Ewings, a wealthy Texan family in the oil and cattle-ranching industries. The focus was mainly on John Ross Ewing III, J.R. and Sue Ellen Ewing's son, as well as Christopher Ewing, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing. Each son is a carbon copy of his father, which took the show full circle until its cancellation, October 3, 2014.
