Larry Hagman passed away November 23 at 4:20 PM at Medical City Hospital in Dallas Texas following complications after a recent battle with throat cancer.

Hagman was well known for starring in "I Dream of Jeannie" as Major Anthony Nelson alongside Barbara Eden (Jeannie) and for playing the iconic villain J.R. Ewing in the 1980's drama and recent reboot, "Dallas." The actor was nominated for 4 Golden Globes, 2 Primetime Emmy Awards, and was the winner of 6 Daytime Emmy Awards. The actor in fact was being treated for cancer while filming the first season of the "Dallas" reboot and told "Access Hollywood" that it wasn't difficult to film "Dallas" during his battle with cancer.

"I was in chemo and radiation and you didn't feel it then," he said. "You felt it afterwards. But I wasn't in any pain or anything like that." He didn't consider dropping out of the project. "I'd made a commitment before we found out and when we found out, they made allowances for it. They gave me a lot of time off and so forth. I'm an actor. You gotta do it. You don't get too many chances at putting 'Dallas' back together again."

Hagman is survived by his wife Maj Axelsson of 58 years and his two children Heidi and Preston. The actor passed on with co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy at his side and afterward, his family released a statement saying, "He was surrounded by loved ones when he passed. It was a peaceful passing, just as he had wished for."
