Rebecca’s identity is revealed, JR and John Ross make a deal, and Bobby is released from the hospital.

At Rebecca’s, Tommy hits the ground, dead. Rebecca calls someone and tells them she is in trouble and immediately some professionals come to help her clean up and dispose of the body.

At the hospital, JR, Ann, Chris, Sue Ellen, John Ross, and Elena hear from the doctor that until Bobby wakes up they won’t know for sure how bad the brain damage will be, if any. JR grabs Bobby’s hand and demands him to keep fighting him. He tells Bobby that he loves him and he does not know who he would be without him.

Vincente calls John Ross and he steps out of the waiting room. He is at the extraction site and needs to get in touch with Chris. He reminds John Ross he is the one who pulled him in on this deal in the first place. Rebecca arrives and hugs Christopher. He can see she has bruises and guesses it was Tommy. She goes to get him coffee and Chris asks John Ross to have Baum find Tommy. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Bobby wakes up and tells Ann and Chris everything is going to be okay.

Rebecca searches Tommy’s hotel room for the rings. She tears up pictures of them kissing. She calls the people who helped her – she needs something from the body. She goes to an airport hangar and looks in the back of a van where Tommy is wrapped in a tarp. She finds pawn slips for the rings in his wallet. She goes to the shop, but the rings have been sold.

John Ross shows Elena the new space he rented for Ewing Energies – the old Ewing Oil space. He had to get it when he found out was for rent. He gets on his knee and asks her to marry him. She says yes and they invite Chris over to celebrate the new lease. He loves it, then sees the ring and things get weird among them. He is glad they are all moving forward. All they need now is the patent from Vincente. Later, Chris brings Chinese food to Rebecca and they kiss. He notices she is not wearing her rings and she tells him her fingers are too swollen.

JR visits Bobby in his room with a bottle of wine. He has unfinished business with JR. JR assures him he was not part of the fraud but Bobby tells him Marta uploaded video to a cloud drive and he saw JR conspiring against him. He won’t send him to jail but wants him to stop double dealing for good and clean up this mess. Later, the nurses wheel Bobby out of his room and Sue Ellen and Ann are alone. She tells Ann she is bowing out of the race and will not launder money for Ryland. Ann does not want Ryland to win but Sue Ellen does not think she deserves to be governor.

Inside Southfork, Elena shows Carmen her ring and she thinks maybe she has misjudged John Ross. Outside, John Ross and Chris play basketball when JR and his lawyer pull up. Bobby wants them to pay the piper. The video of John Ross proves he brought JR into the deal after he brought in the Venezuelans. John Ross agrees to confess to conspiring if they never tell Elena. She is outside though, and overhears everything. He knew if he told her she would not give him a second chance. He needs her by his side. He wants her to meet him at Ewing Energies tomorrow to start fresh.

Ann visits Ryland at work and asks her if she wants another hug. She tells him off for sending the necklace and harassing her family. What he is doing to Sue Ellen is too much. He starts to unbutton her shirt and asks her if she is in the mood. She begins to take off her clothes and he smiles – until he sees the wire. She has his confession for blackmail and money laundering on tape. She punches him and tells him if he asks for a hug again it will be the end of her shot gun. Later, she meets Sue Ellen at the playground and gives her the recording to stay in the race.

At home, Vincente meets with Cliff’s driver Frank to sign some documents. The Ewings need a strong hand but Frank assures him Cliff knows how to deal with them. The FBI arrive and later Bobby has Vincente brought to him. He tells him about the signed confessions from JR and John Ross and the video with Marta’s murder. Later at Southfork, Bobby tells JR he would never send him to jail, and JR calls him predictable. Bobby pulls out another copy of the cloud drive and warns JR if he crosses him again, he will use it. JR wouldn’t have it any other way.

John Ross pours a drink at Southfork. Bobby and Chris arrive and tell him it is over. Bobby still wants them to bring some peace to this family. Baum calls John Ross who tells Chris he found Tommy. Chris meets Baum at his hotel and when they go in the room is immaculate. The phone rings and Chris answers. It is Tommy’s sister Rebecca in Des Moines. He realizes Rebecca is still lying to him.

At home, Chris finds Rebecca on the floor. He tells her he spoke with Tommy’s sister. She is not the only one who lied. The truth is he never had a chance with her because he is still in love with Elena. Chris assures her he will find out who she is and then he will send her to prison and take the babies. Later, she meets Frank in the hangar and her dad – Cliff Barnes! He pulls out her wedding rings and she apologizes. She has given him two years of her life to make him happy and won’t stop now. He needs her to tap into Ewing Energies to bring that family down for good. She assures him she will not lose focus. Frank asks her what her first move is.

At home, Elena puts her ring away. Chris runs up and tells her he does not want to waste another minute without her. He is done with Rebecca forever. He pulls out her old engagement ring and gives it back to her. It has always been hers. Later, they make love.

Sue Ellen gives her speech in public. She wants to challenge evil and looks at the campaign as an uphill battle – she wants to fight for the good people of Texas who have faith in her.

John Ross waits for Elena at Ewing Energies, but Carmen comes and brings him the ring. Later, JR arrives. John Ross wants him to teach him every trick in the book. When he takes Ewing Energies from Christopher he will cut JR in. If he screws him he will make sure he never gets a dime. JR admires John Ross and they drink on it.

My take:

This brief season was a blessing in that it really left me wanting next season to come sooner than January. With so many characters fully developed, a lot of this season wasn't wasted on trying to introduce us to everybody. But the new people (Ann, Rebecca) have plenty of secrets Of there own. I was pretty shocked to find out who Rebecca's dad was. I had thought her mom was Ann, but if that is the case, how do those two know each other? Plenty to ponder leaving this season and moving into he next. It is nice to know JR loves Bobby, even though he is about to try and take everything away from him. And the Johnny Cash lead out - love!
