At the hospital Chris tells John Ross and Elena that Bobby had a brain seizure. He goes in to see Ann and Bobby and Elena reveals to John Ross that Bobby has cancer. He asked her not to tell him because he thought John Ross and JR would use it against him to get Southfork. John Ross meets Baum and tells him to find JR. In his room Bobby and Ann learn he is cancer free. He had a cerebral aneurism that quires surgery in a few days. He wants to go home despite the risks. If it is his time to go he wants to be surrounded by loved ones.

At Southfork, Ann tells Rebecca what happened. Chris wakes up on the couch and tells Rebecca he is glad she came. She rubs his shoulders until Elena comes in and Ann needs Chris' help with Bobby. Later, Rebecca leaves and sees Chris’ briefcase in his car. She grabs his keycard, but puts it back. Inside, JR arrives and Ann threatens to shoot him until he leaves. Bobby just wants peace in the family. Outside, Chris wants John Ross to get JR to sign the Soutfork deed back over to Bobby. Bobby was there for him his whole life when JR wasn’t. The John Ross he used to know loved Bobby.

JR sits at Bobby’s desk and sees a picture of them fishing. Carmen tells him Ann is gone and Bobby wants to see him. JR asks why he did not tell him about the cancer, but Bobby wanted to undo the damage he caused. Bobby loves him no matter what. He hopes JR remembers that. JR wants him to keep telling him since his memory is not what it used to be. They share a moment. In the kitchen John Ross thinks Ewing could have been bigger than Exxon. Chris thinks they can change things - Ewing Energy has a nice ring to it. Later they give Bobby an IOU for the first share of Ewing Energy. John Ross and Chris are going into business together with Elena as a partner. Bobby would be an equal partner. They assure him JR will get profits but nothing else. They thought it was time for a little peace in the family. Bobby thinks it has a chance. Elsewhere JR signs the deed and brings it to Bobby. He tells him there is no need to get emotional. Bobby tells him he is not off the hook for how he got it in the first place.

At Southfork, Bobby gets a call. They have a lead on the woman pretending to be Marta. Her card was linked to cloud storage service with documents and photo. If they can find JRs involvement, it will get Bobby off the hook for the deal. Is he prepared to send JR to jail? Bobby has another aneurism and is rushed off in the ambulance.

    No Good Deed.

At home, Bobby and Ann hear from the Sheriff about Marta’s real identity. Chris comes in, then Elena. Elena tells them John Ross might not get bail. She wishes there was more she could do but Chris thinks John Ross did it to himself, whether he killed her or not. Elena is appalled he would want him punished for something he didn’t do. Chris leaves and catches up with the sheriff. He wants a background check on Rebecca.

Vincente comes to Southfork to tell Bobby that until the loan is paid off, they hold a lien on Southfork. If they don’t get oil immediately they will take ownership of the ranch. Bobby tells him JR may hold the note, but he controls the mineral rights. They will never pump a drop of oil on Southfork. Later, John Ross is beaten up in jail, courtesy of Vincente. Next time, get the oil or he dies.

Bobby and Chris meet with their lawyer, who tells them the investors have a legal contract. Ann arrives and tells them about John Ross. They meet Elena and Sue Ellen in the hospital. Bobby knows it was Vincente sending a message. They have to get him out on bail right away. Later, Sue Ellen talks with Ann. JR is not afraid to cross the line, but she is. The only way she can help John Ross is if she crosses a big line. And if she does that, what does that make her? "A mother," Ann says. Inside his room, Chris tells John Ross he wants to find another way to prove he didn’t do this. What is he not telling him? John Ross tells him Marta taped the whole thing but the Venezuelans stole it and are threatening him with it.

On the ranch, Bobby brings flowers to Ellie’s gravestone. She once told him family was like baking a cake – messy. He knows if she was here she would do whatever it takes to protect the family. And that is just what he is going to do, and he knows she will understand. Inside, he tells Ann they are going to have to pump oil until John Ross is safe. Chris thinks he can give them something better.

At the hospital, JR secretly visits John Ross. Later, Sue Ellen tells him she thinks it will be ruled a suicide. He does not see how that is possible. An officer comes in and tells him they found the camera on the roof that exonerates him. Sue Ellen takes John Ross home and once they get there he runs into Elena’s arms and they kiss. The medical examiner calls Sue Ellen - he just let the real killer walk thanks to her. John Ross asks Chris why he did it and he tells him they are both just trying to make their fathers proud. They shake hands and Bobby thanks Chris. Chris did what he had to for his family. Bobby hands him a letter that came for him. Later, Sue Ellen tells Ann she bribed the medical examiner. She crossed a line she promised she would never cross and let someone else get away with a murder. All for nothing.

    Collateral Damage

    Wednesday, July 18 2012

Ann looks at the locket when Bobby calls. She says she is shopping when she is really at a playground, watching children play. He can tell something is off. Later, the cops arrest Bobby at Southfork for assaulting Ryland. At the jail he learns there is a deal on the table. All Ryland wants is an apology and he will drop the charges. Bobby wants to know where JR is. There are no phone records, nothing from the nursing home, that connects him to the Southfork deal. He did find info on JR’s PI Baum, though.
