She can work a gun and ride a stallion, handling her role as the matriarch of SouthFork with dignity and grace.

Sue Ellen finds Ken in the Cayman Islands. She needs hard evidence of the governor’s involvement. He can’t help her because years ago his son’s tech company was dumping chemicals in the river. He buried the report and the governor knows. Sue Ellen promises to protect him. He still won’t help so she threatens to expose that tech company herself if he doesn’t. A little something she learned from JR – if you can’t count on someone to do the right thing, don't give them the choice.
Chris goes to the home linked to his mom’s accounts. Dr. David Gordon answers and tells Chris his mother isn’t there. Chris rushes in anyway, but no Pamela. David tells Chris that he is Pam’s husband. He was her surgeon after the accident and they fell in love. Pamela traveled this far to escape the Barnes-Ewing feud and never wants to see him again. Chris leaves in tears.
At Southfork, Ann gets a call that Emma has agreed to rehab.
Chris returns to the hotel and Elena can tell it went badly. He can’t understand why she doesn’t want to see her son. He starts crying and she tells him they won’t leave until he confronts Pamela face to face. He is glad she is there and they hold each other.
At Southfork Bobby introduces John Ross and Pamela to Rhonda, the woman who was with JR the night he died. Pamela shows her a picture of Cliff. Rhonda saw him at the club the night JR was killed. John Ross runs off and Bobby follows. Bobby wants stronger proof against Cliff but John Ross demands to know what Bobby is holding on to. Bobby insists Chris needs his mother’s shares first. In the meantime Bobby has a way to prove Cliff did it. He just needs one day and Pamela’s help.
In the hotel, Chris looks through Elena’s bag for a phone charger and finds the burner. He calls the last number and when Drew hears it is Chris he destroys his phone. Elena comes out of the shower and Chris demands to know where Drew is. She tells him he is trying to help but he wants her gone when he gets back.
Ann makes breakfast for Emma and givers her half a pill. Emma takes it.
Chris sits outside his mother’s house and ignores a call from Elena. She begs him to come back to the hotel so she can fix this. She loves him.
Chris tells Elena at home that he can’t trust her anymore.
Pamela and Cliff head to Mexico and she plants his gun in the limo before they take off in the jet.
At home Emma mixes up pills in Harris' breakfast, and when he passes out she pulls out the log book and a suitcase from his safe. She goes to Southfork and gives everything to Ann.
When Harris wakes up the cops are there to arrest him for drug trafficking. Cliff’s safe deposit is searched, JR’s body is exhumed, and Cliff’s gun is found.
As soon as Cliff and Pam arrive in Mexico, Bobby, John Ross, Sue Ellen and Christopher arrive. They know about Pamela's death and reveal Pam’s marriage to John Ross. The cops come to arrest Cliff but he denies everything. He tells Pamela JR is trying to frame him from the grave. He did not kill JR!
In his office, the governor fills Harris and Cliff in on the Ewing’s accusations. He is grateful for their help with the election, but if this goes bad for him it will go bad for them. He will tell TESHA about the explosion. Cliff assures him nothing will go wrong. The governor encourages them to tie up all loose ends.
Chris meets with US Attorney Ellis about his mother and learns all of her accounts and paperwork have not been touched in years. Ellis tells Chris she could be dead, or just off the grid. Chris wants to have her declared dead but Ellis can’t just make it happen. Chris rages about Cano getting out of jail. Ellis will get the certificate.
At home, Ann finds pills in Emma’s room. Ann knows the damage those pills can do and tells her what Sue Ellen saw at the bar. Emma promises she wasn’t high and accuses Sue Ellen of being drunk herself. Ann doesn’t believe it but Emma swears she is telling the truth. She gives Ann the pills. She doesn’t need them anymore. They hug. After Ann leaves Emma searches and finds only empty pull bottles.
Bobby meets with a sheriff at Southfork about looking onto Ryland. He leaves as Sue Ellen arrives. She tells Bobby that Ken is gone and he leaves to call Bum to help find him. Ann comes down and asks Sue Ellen if she was drinking the night she saw Emma. Sue Ellen swears she was only meeting Ken about the investigation and warns Ann she is doing no favors to Emma by believing her lies.
Emma struggles with her horse at Southfork and Ann intervenes. She asks Emma about her behavior, missing lessons and meals, staying out all night. Ann wants to be there for her. Emma stomps off.
Chris looks over pictures of Harris’ trucks at home and worries to Elena about the fine. She looks over the pictures and realizes it was the truck Drew was driving.
Elena goes to Drew’s place and demands the truth. He tells her he built the bomb for Harris. They told him they would kill Elena if he didn’t. She tells him he has to turn himself in but he will pay a price. She leaves and he pulls a bag of stolen shoes out from under his bed – and a gun.
Ann prepares lunch in the kitchen but Emma isn’t hungry. Bobby asks what is going on and she tells him about the pills. They hug and Elena rushes in with news. Chris, Bobby and Elena run to Drew’s place but he is gone, along with his gun. Drew left a confession about what he did and for whom. But they have to find him.
Roy is brought up on charges at court. He pleads not guilty and since there is no evidence the judge dismisses charges.
Later, Bobby tells John Ross that Roy disappeared after court. He has had Bum following Cliff and tells him he gave Pamela one third of Barnes Global. John Ross is surprised. Bobby wants her shares but is not sure he should ask John Ross to do anything about it. John Ross knows this isn’t about love. It’s about family survival. A sheriff comes by and takes them to a wreck Emma had under the influence. Ann approaches her but Emma accuses Ann of escaping Harris and Judith without her. Ann blames herself for not doing anything when she learned about her drug problem. Emma is arrested and Ann refuses to bail her out until she agrees to rehab.
Chris gets a call at home and runs to his computer. He gets Bobby and Ann and tells them someone saw Pam and they are emailing over a picture. Her face is partially hidden, and after the car accident, Bobby can’t tell if it is really her. Chris is on the next flight to Zurich. Elena wants to go with him and he agrees. Later, Sue Ellen meets Bobby and tells him Ken is still missing and no one will cover their loan. Bobby is not used to doing things the way JR did and tells Sue Ellen that JR had a plan. John Ross texts him and tells him the shares are his.
Pamela and John Ross get married at a chapel.
Cliff arrives at Ewing Energies the next morning for his money. Bobby hands over the keys to Ewing Energies instead and tells him not to get too comfortable. They both wish they could see the look on JR’s face right now.
