Any other Daytime nominees in the smaller categories will be announced the evening of May 14 during a reception at the Hearst Building in New York City. Stay tuned, as Soaps.com will bring you the nominees the second they're released!
Previously Reported on March 25:
Soaps.com has just learned from Tom O'Neil, of The Envelope, that the CW network, who incidentally doesn’t actually air any daytime shows, will be telecasting the Daytime Emmys late in the year, tentatively, this August 31, 2009. We also have been hearing that the show could possibly be held not at the Kodak Theatre, where they’re typically held in Los Angeles, but at the landmark theatre, The Orpheum, in Los Angeles California.
Since the details regarding the news are still being worked out, Soaps.com will be back to update you, when we’re given more information.
Given that CBS and The CW stem from the same corporate family, don't be shocked if you see a CBS influence in the awards show. Another neat option for the CW to prosper by airing the awards show is they'll be able to have former soap opera actors, who now have a home in their Primetime shows, as presenters, which in turn will connect their Primetime shows with the millions of soap fans out there!
Check back with us next week for more word on that and in less than a month, we’ll reveal the nominations for the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards.
