They go through painstaking rituals to look good so we can gawk at them on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys. Amongst the hits and misses, there are a few who stood out for being unique.
October 28, 2012 Heather Tom (Katie Logan-Spencer, "B&B") gave birth to her son, Zane Alexander, who incidentally is already acting, playing her son with Bill (Don Diamont), Will Spencer. You'd never know it, seeing the new mother in this modern Marilynesque dress she wore to the 40th Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony. In fact, we could barely tell she was pregnant during the 39th Daytime Emmy celebrations. The Emmy winning actress' understated jewelry which consisted of a few classy gold bangles, and earrings came from Martin Katz Jewelry.
"Bold and The Beautiful's" Linsey Godfrey (Caroline Spencer) was faced with two choices during her search for the perfect gown for the Daytime Emmys. One was by BCBG and the other, which she chose, the watermelon frock, by Badgley Mischka. Great choice. She stood out, hair in an up-do, looking sun-kissed. Like the dress? Ehrich (Nikki Nelson/WENN.com)
You wouldn't see women wearing the same dress at each event so why men are forced to wear that classic single-breasted model at every turn? Turns out they're not. Max Ehrich (Fenmore Baldwin, "Young And The Restless") didn't play it safe when it came to finding something to wear to the Daytime Emmys. He ran over to Top Shop where he nabbed this unique - modern - two-tone grey tux jacket with blue dress shirt. He made it come together with black dress pants and the canary yellow bow tie. Well done.
Castillo (Nikki Nelson/WENN.com)
Who's that lady?
Remove the red thick framed glasses, tame the frizzy hair, and who do we have? Teresa Castillo, who portrays Sabrina Santiago, "General Hospital's" newest ingénue.
Castillo dazzled all on the red carpet in a white sequined, floor-length strapless gown. She opted for a purple clutch to complete the ensemble and wore her hair down in a cascade of waves. Sabrina who?
Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker DiMera, "Days Of Our Lives") was nominated for best supporting actress and though she didn't take home a statue for that category, "DOOL" won for best show. Zucker arrived on the red carpet of the 40th Annual Daytime Emmys wearing a 1930s style black dress. Was she inspired by the new film, "The Great Gatsby?" She wore it well from the jewelry down to the strappy shoes. Even her coiffure was a modern take on the Pixie Wave. It's a hit!
