SOAPnet 'Night Before Party' Red Carpet!

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Jacklyn Zeman (Christine Fix,'s Shannon Burrell and Christine Fix were invited to cover the SOAPnet "Night Before Party" last night at trendy hotspot Boulevard 3, in Hollywood. We arrived early and took our places amongst the media, on the red carpet. We spent our time waiting for the arrivals by mixing it up with a few freelance photographers, and downing copious amounts of liquids.

We spoke with various actors and actresses from all nine soaps, and took a mess of photographs, which we'll be uploading throughout the week. Shannon and I are preparing to cover the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, so thought we'd take what little time we have to provide our visitors with a few teasers of what went down on the red carpet, before the SOAPnet party!

Shannon and Christine had the pleasure of chatting with General Hospital's Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie Spencer) Will you be a part of GH: Night Shift?
Jacklyn: You know, I am not sure. I like to be surprised by the scripts, so I just open them and go with what it says! We’ve been waiting for Bobbie to get some romance in her life.
Jacklyn: Yeah, me too! It has definitely been a dry spell in that area.

    Linda Dano (Christine Fix,

We turned our attentions to daytime fashion diva Linda Dano, (ex-Felicia Galant Another World ex-Ray OLTL/GH/AMC) exchanged pleasantries with the lovely Linda, and asked her when she'd be on another daytime show.
Linda: You won’t! I have officially retired from daytime, but you will continue to see me on 'unzipped' and commenting about what everyone is wearing.

Elizabeth, Ricky & Marj (Christine Fix,

Time was running away with us and before they were whisked away for photos, The Guiding Light's Marj Dusay (Alexandra Spaulding), Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus Aitoro) and Elizabeth Keifer (Blake Marler) stopped briefly to say hello. Congratulations to all of you at Guiding Light for 70 years and to you Ricky for your Best Actor Emmy Nomination!

Ricky: Thank you so much! Would the three of you mind posing for a group photo?
    Marj: Not at all!

    Judith Chapman (Christine Fix,

The threesome was rushed off and we spoke with the lovely southern belle, The Young and The Restless' Judith Chapman (Gloria Bardwell). Judith was animated and when we asked if she thought that Y&R was going to take home the award of Best Show this year, she told us, "I think it is high time! The cast and crew work so hard every day to produce an exciting show. Tomorrow at the Emmy Awards, I will be doing what you are doing right now on the red carpet for Please look for me and say hello." We will be right there with you and can’t wait to read what all you have to say from the red carpet!

    Thaao & Leann (Christine Fix,

The line moves quickly, so we nabbed Thaao Penghlis, who plays devious Tony Dimera, on Days Of Our Lives. We were happily surprised to see his beautiful guest, who just happens to be Leann Hunley, who portrays Anna DiMera Brady on the show. Thaao, welcome back to Days! How does it feel to be back?
Thaao: You know, it has been almost 2 years since I left. It took a little time to find my footing again, but it’s all going great now! I’ve had meetings with the new writer and the fans can expect a very exciting storyline around why the Dimera/Brady feud began...and passion is at the core! Leann, we are thrilled that you are back on the show! Was it just like old times on the set?
Leann: It was like time had stood still, yet I am 21 years older! *grimace and a chuckle* Everyone is still the same and they are great to work with! What role will Anna be playing when she returns to Salem?
Leann: She will be there to do what she does best; to stir up trouble!

The red carpet interviews lasted approximately 3 hours, so don't think that this is the last of our red carpet tales. Another update will follow, but right now, we've got to get ourselves all pretty and dash off to another round of interviews.

    Stay tuned!
