    Updated on March 18:

Well soap fans, there is still no official news on whether or not you'll be able to watch the Daytime Emmys this year. However, Soaps.com does have a few tidbits to keep you up to date with what's been going on…

Variety is reporting that negotiations are currently taking place with two networks in hopes of negotiating a deal and that the show may air, tentatively on Sunday June 27 on the west coast at the Las Vegas Hilton. Also, for next year's awards, Director of the Daytime Emmys for the New York-based National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences teased, "Next year, I'm expecting to see quite a few online, shortform soaps, and they'll be nominated in our new online category." This is great news for such web series as Venice: The Series, which Soaps.com now covers!

It's been the declining ratings over the past ten years that have put the Daytime Emmys in jeopardy. Last year both CBS and ABC declined to air the show, and though The CW made it possible for fans to view the televised event, only 2.7 million viewers tuned in, which made up only half of the show's prior audience.

Soaps.com will continue to bring our readers any developing details - as soon as they're released.

    Previously Reported on March 12:

Though nothing is official yet, President of Worldwide Media and Entertainment Jim Romanovich has released this statement...

"Daytime Emmys-there is already a television broadcast set pending the agreement with NATAS," Jim tweeted.

Soaps.com will continue to keep you posted on any further developments.

    Previously Reported on February 16:

As with many of the fans, Soaps.com is still awaiting news in regards to whether or not the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air this year. Though there still isn't any news to report, Associated Television International's (ATI) President of Worldwide Media and Entertainment Jim Romanovich did have this to say about a possible tribute for As the World Turns, which will be canceled in September 2010…

"If we did ATWT in 2010 it would get lost in the hoopla of AMC's 40th anniversary which is the theme."

Though it seems there won't be a tribute planned this year, should the awards show air in 2011, that's when one would be done. Soaps.com will keep our readers posted on any further developments surrounding everything to do with what's always been Daytime's much anticipated award show.

Would you be disappointed if the awards weren't aired live? Please share your thoughts with Soaps.com regarding this matter. Also, be sure to visit our Coverage section for more Emmy details.
