The swag the nominees will receive! (Soaps.com)

9:00 AM With all of the changes surrounding this year’s 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, we have patiently been waiting for the final nominations list, and Soaps.com is happy to be able to deliver it to our readers now, via live blogging, as it’s announced on "The Today Show!"

Amy and Christine will be bringing those who are stuck at work or on their commute without a television, the nominations for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, as they are announced on the show! What you want to do is keep refreshing to find out what's going on as the show progresses and as the nominations are rolled out.

As you’re standing by, please leave us your ideas on who you’d like to see make the list, your likes, dislikes, thoughts about last year’s winners, or anything to contribute to this year's live Soaps.com Daytime Emmy blogging event!

9:10 AM First of all, I really wanted to touch base on what the pre-noms are, before we get the nomination discussion on the way. I’ll quote myself from this article 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Pre-Nominations. “If an actor wants to put in their name to be nominated for a daytime Emmy, they’ll first decide to which category they belong. Lead actor? Lead actress? After they’ve decided, each show puts all these names into a pool, and they decide internally, on who will be chosen for the nominations. Incidentally, an actor could have worked once, to be nominated by his peers, or she could have worked on a hundred episodes. There is no criterion set as to how often they would have to work in order to put up their name for an Emmy.”

9:20 AM Last year, what stood out for me at the 35th Daytime Emmy Awards was Jeanne Cooper’s outstanding lead actor win. I adore her and was torn between wanting Michelle Stafford to win and her! I was happy to see my prediction of winner for outstanding drama series came to fruition when One Life to Live won! Amy, what stood out for you? - Christine

I was happy that One Life to Live won last year in both Outstanding Writing and Directing Team categories, and although One Life is my baby, I think the highlight of last year’s show for me was when The Young and The Restless’ Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) won for Outstanding Lead Actress. Seeing such a talented soap vet take home the award was amazing. - Amy

Last year, Cameron Mathison and Sherri Shepherd hosted the 35th show and this year’s host is under wraps at the moment. Are you as intrigued as we are to learn who the host of the 36th awards show will be? If anyone has any thoughts as to who it’ll be, we invite you to post below!

9:30 AM - There are a lot of great actors up for nominations this year, but there’s only prediction I feel comfortable putting out there – and that’s One Life to Live’s Bree Williamson (Jessica Brennan) for Outstanding Supporting Actress. I’ve been saying it for a year that Bree better at least get nominated for her multi-faceted role as Jess/Bess/Tess, and her performance during Nash’s death still gets me chocked up every time I see it! - Amy

Bree did a fantastic job last year. I’d be happy seeing her become nominated too, Amy. Last year I did predictions for every category, on a radio show I was working on at the time. It was grueling, considering that my job isn’t to watch all soaps, back to back! Can you imagine? I have my faves, sure, but even I know that my faves may not take the nomination for the category they’re in. For example, since Thaao Penghlis (Tony, DOOL) didn’t win the award last year for lead actor, which was the category he put himself up for, I’d like to see him take it this year. I have no idea if he will! There’s certainly a lot of competition around and there are a few I’d be happy to see take a nom – and a win! Fickle soap viewer, eh?! This year I’ll lie low and simply to watch “The Today Show” roll these names out and chat with you all about who you’d like to see take a nomination! - Christine

9:40 AM There are always actors with whom we prefer over others, who we’d like to see win an Emmy, but some don’t put themselves out there. That’s what our Sudzies Awards are for! Those will be posted soon after we learn who the nominees are. Click the link to find out more about the Sudzies, which were requested by our message board posters and created all in the name of fun!

9:50 AM – We're waiting, like you, for the fourth hour of "The Today Show" to begin, anxious to learn who will be nominated for an Emmy. Last year, Days of Our Lives’s Alison Sweeney (Sami) and Brian Datillo (Lucas) announced the nominations on “THE VIEW,” and "The Today Show's" co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb will be making the announcement soon (from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM). I'm not pleased with that at all, considering neither have anything to do with soaps. I'd have preferred to see a few soap actors announcing.

Okay, "The Today Show" is making us wait until 10:30 AM, so we will update the below section as things get underway!
