With anticipation for the upcoming 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and all of the changes ahead, Jim Romanovich, ATI’s president of Worldwide Media and Entertainment, has released a bit more to help viewers understand some of changes for this year's awards show.
First and foremost, now that we know it'll be broadcast on the CW Network on August 30, fans are wondering who the host will be. Though that information hasn't been released yet, Jim assures everyone that they are closing in on naming the host, yes there will only be one host, and they are looking at six people in particular.
Speaking of the August date, which falls on a Sunday, unlike the normal June Friday night date that so many have been used to, Jim explains the reasons for the August date is to give everyone the time to prepare for the airing of the show, which had been undecided for a while. Aside from the fact that to air a June show, with new programming, would be quite the rush, the CW Network's new show season begins on August 30 - a time when viewers are looking forward to their favorite show seasons coming back into their homes, a time when the Daytime Emmy Awards wouldn't be interfering with any other award shows that are scheduled prior to that date. However, this doesn't mean that they won't change the Emmy schedule for the following years after having this year to test the waters, if you will.
A true fan of Daytime, Jim is taking the next five weeks to visit all of the studios in order to meet those involved and see how the studios run things in an attempt to ensure that the Emmys go off without a hitch this year and are an enjoyable experience for everyone involved!
Soaps.com will keep you posted on any further developments surrounding the biggest event in Daytime!
