Jim Romanovich, ATI's president of Worldwide Media and Entertainment, has just announced a few special plans for the upcoming Daytime Emmy Awards! Here's what he had to say... Soaps.com is excited to pass along this much anticipated news! This year's 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday August 30 from the historic Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, California!

As we reported back in March, the show will air on the CW Network beginning at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. Partnering up with the Associated Television International (ATI), NATAS and MGM Worldwide Television, the show will have Executive Producers David McKenzie (ATI President and Emmy® award winning producer) and Paul Sharratt at the helm and will be seen worldwide!

The ceremony will honor the best in Daytime Entertainment Drama Series, Talk and Morning Shows, Variety, Cooking, Animation, and Courtroom Drama, as well as awarding this year's Lifetime Achievement Award to Sesame Street for forty great educating and entertaining years!

Though we are used to seeing our Emmys broadcasted on a Friday night, don't worry, you won't miss any of the past fun that goes along with the show! Not only will you still be able to catch the red carpet arrivals, we are promised a show through new approaches with hopes of making it better than ever!

"We are thrilled to be working with NATAS, MGM and the CW on this year's special presentation," stated Jim Romanovich, ATI's President of Worldwide Media and Entertainment. As the producers of many successful event specials, including The World Magic Awards, and as fans of the daytime genre, it is our quest to make this a fast paced, fun-filled entertainment special that celebrates the best of daytime."

"We're pleased to have this prestigious franchise on our network," said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW. "It is not only a terrifically entertaining show with a core female following similar to our own, but will also give us a promotional platform as we launch our Fall 2009 schedule."

Jim Packer, Co-President of MGM Worldwide Television, stated: "MGM is always looking at creative ways to work with our partners in bringing compelling product to the marketplace and this is clear example of executing that strategy."

For those who are subscribers to Good Housekeeping, the magazine will dedicate a multi-page insert to The Daytime Emmy Awards and its nominees in their September issue!

Don't forget, the final nominations will be announced on May 14 on NBC's "Today Show," and Soaps.com will be here to bring you the list in its entirety! We will also be spilling about what reels the actors put in, for themselves, before that. As with year's past, our Editor-In-Chief, Christine Fix, will be attending the big event in August in order to deliver our readers scoops, photos and interviews from Daytime's biggest night!
