      * Julia Barr is returning as Brooke English beginning February 23! Read about it here!

      * Thorsten Kaye's last scenes as Zach Slater have now aired, and he will not join AMC in Los Angeles.

      * Alicia Minshew has taped additional scenes, so we will see Kendall again in a few weeks, but Alicia is officially on maternity leave and there is no word if she will return at some point in the future.

      * We'll be seeing plenty more of Opal in the new year, as actress Jill Larson has been offered a contract and will make the move to L.A. Read about it here!

      * Actor Finn Wittrock who plays Damon, Baby Stuart's biological father, has been put on contract and will continue with the show in L.A. Read about him here!

      * Daniel Kennedy, who plays Petey Cortlandt will not join the cast in L.A. He last aired on Halloween.

      * James Mitchell as Palmer Cortlandt has joined the list of those returning for the 40th anniversary! Read about it here!

      * Alicia Minshew is taping this week in New York for three episodes - it's the show's last week of taping before the move to L.A.

      * Lorraine Broderick has joined the AMC writing team, but representatives say she is not the new head writer at this time. Details here.

      * Lee Meriweather will appear during Christmas week as Ruth Martin.

      * Anna Koonin returns as Nurse Gayle beginning December 23.

      * In an interview with Soap Opera Weekly, head writer Robert Guza indicated a return by Vanessa Marcil (Brenda) and Genie Francis (Laura) in 2010 is a definite possibility. As he stated, "Nothing is definite yet. Of course, we'd always love to have them back, but at this point, it's still a work in progress. We definitely want them, so stay tuned for 2010."

      * Gavin Houston will play new cop Sly Houston beginning January 13.

      * Alex Hill portrays car accident victim Dean starting January 20.
