Actress Hunter King is headed back to The Young and the Restless to reprise the role of Summer Newman, according to TVLine. King joined Life in Pieces before leaving Y&R in 2016, and Soaps.com has learned she will continue to play Clementine on the series.
Speculation has been steady about the return of Summer since Y&R recast the role of Kyle Abbott, as the characters had been involved previously. Summer was last seen before deciding to leave for extensive travel and has been referred to on occasion by her onscreen parents, Phyllis and Nick. In a preview photo of her return, Summer is shown in jail, so there's no telling what she's been up to!
Hunter King has been put on contract and will first be seen on Monday June 4.

Soaps.com readers and fans of Kirsten Storms can breathe a sigh of relief as the actress is not leaving General Hospital, and in fact signed a new contract with the show. Storms noted on social media, "To address the internet rumors, no I’m not leaving GH. I had to take 2 sick days due to the flu and that is all. 😊 I also recently re-signed with the show and I’m very happy to be continuing with Maxie’s journey. Thanks @valentinifrank for being so great while I was sick. ❤️" Due to the actress' brief illness, Molly Burnett will temporarily return to GH as Maxie.
This isn't the first time the actress has had to dispel rumors about herself. As Soaps.com recently reported, Kirsten Storms is not pregnant, unlike her Port Charles character Maxie Jones.
