Taylor and Ridge talk, Steffy gives Liam a choice, and Liam visits Hope.
At the Malibu house, Steffy asks Liam how it feels to hold her fate in his hands. He replies, "Familiar." She tells him to weigh the pros and cons, and talks about steamy nights, walks on the beach, and sharing their lives. Steffy reminds him that Hope still needs to grow up, and mentions her running back to mommy. Steffy asks, "Is this really the life you want to live?" Liam defends Hope's decision. Steffy notices the VCR, and Liam shows her the Bob Hope movies. Steffy says they're sympatico, and Liam agrees she's his best friend, but he must work things through with Hope. Steffy shrugs - she's not even there. Steffy suggests he go end it with Hope. If he doesn't return in an hour, she'll leave. They kiss. She says, "Go, and then come back to me." Liam leaves.
At Brooke's house, Hope says she knows Steffy is probably with Liam right now. Rick encourages her to go to the beach house. Hope doesn't want to go over there because of Steffy - she needs to be true to herself. They talk about the wedding in Italy. Hope shares the story of how she wound up late to the ceremony, saying when they finally exchanged vows it was magnificent, but that will never be her wedding day. She admits she's concerned there will always be some secret waiting to come out. Rick suggests she have this conversation with Liam. Later, Liam arrives and tells Hope he's tried to understand her position but she has to give him some forgiveness. He asks her to come home to work through things - he needs her answer.
At Forrester, Taylor talks to Ridge about seeing Steffy walking the same path she did - feeling second best and never measuring up. Ridge says he never regretted one moment he spent with her. They remember some of the good times, and the bad, like losing Phoebe. They talk about Steffy's recent growth. Taylor muses that she's had the brat beat out of her by love. Taylor wishes Steffy didn't have to go around feeling her life is half-empty because Liam's not in it. Ridge asks about Taylor and Thorne. Taylor replies, "How am I supposed to give my heart to another man when so much of it still belongs to you?" Ridge recalls wishing he could be in two places at once, and tells Taylor he never stopped loving her. Taylor just doesn't want Steffy going through what she did.
