Ridge visits Steffy, Marcus gets a shock, and Hope refuses to return home.
At home, Liam calls Hope and asks her to come home. She says she needs time. Bill arrives and tells Liam he needs him at work. Liam tells Bill that Hope walked out on him. Bill is outraged. Liam gets upset. Bill tersely says everything will be fine and leaves.
In her office, Steffy recalls telling Liam it's time to let Hope go. Ridge enters. They discuss Thomas and Caroline. Steffy says they're good together. They discuss Hope walking out on Liam and Steffy being over there. Steffy says it's no secret she loves him, and tells Ridge she can no longer support his relationship with Hope because of how she's behaving. Ridge concedes Hope has a lot of maturing to do. Steffy wonders if the misunderstandings are signs that she and Liam are meant to be. Ridge hugs her. "Time will tell."
In the courtroom, Caroline tells Dayzee that the video footage is really good. Marcus enters and Justin tells him they're getting him out. Thomas tells a stunned Marcus that he didn't hit Anthony. The judge enters and Justin explains they have new evidence that exonerates his client. Thomas and Caroline explain how they came to obtain the footage. The video shows Marcus's car hitting the pothole and stopping. Another car's taillights are shown ahead - that car hit Anthony and took off! Marcus is relieved he didn't hit Anthony. The judge drops the charges, but issues a fine for texting while driving. Marcus embraces Justin and thanks Caroline and Thomas before kissing Dayzee. Caroline tells Thomas they make a good team.
At home, Brooke suggests to Hope that she might sleep better at home with her husband. Hope's not ready to go back. Brooke thinks Hope needs to find a way to forgive Liam and suggests she's over-reacting. Hope disagrees and reminds Brooke that she spins out of control when she's not true to herself. She admits she doesn't want the marriage any more. Brooke talks about marriage being hard work and how it takes time to find solid ground. "Go home to your husband." Hope insists she needs to go at her own pace.
Steffy returns to Liam's place and learns Hope didn't come home last night. She encourages him to ditch work to walk on the beach like they used to. Liam takes her arm and they go. Later, they return laughing, with Steffy wet from a rogue wave. Liam says there are a lot of things lately he didn't see coming.
