Nick's plans are coming into place, Jackie worries that he's building a house of cards, the Forresters (think they) are on top of the world, and a touching tribute to Darlene Conley.
Eric is thriving in his new work environment as Phoebe gets ready to model one of Eric's new dresses. Felicia and Bridget are also on hand, giving their input.
Over at the "other" Forrester design shop, Nick is working, too. He has spilled coffee on his shirt and had to change. While bare-chested, he notices his St. Christopher medallion that he always wears and remembers the day that Brooke gave it to him. Jackie comes in and Nick reports that between Arthur Harrison and the other 2 distributors that he made generous offers to, they could have a strong retail force to consolidate under the name of Jackie M.
Ridge and Brooke are making out in Ridge's office. He's supposed to be working on the new collection and Brooke is "inspiring" him. Brooke pulls herself away so that he can work; then asks if he's working hard as an excuse to avoid Rick at home. Ridge admits to overhearing their conversation last night and Brooke apologizes for her oldest son's reaction to their reconciliation. Ridge says that he just has to prove himself to Rick, like he did with her.
Rick isn't at home at all, In fact, he's paying Nick a little visit. When he walks through Nick's office door, he jokingly asks if he's busy plotting his family's demise. Nike asks if he blames him for his being back in LA. He explains to Rick that he lost his job only because he needed to be sure that he could trust everyone in place – especially overseas employees.
Down the hall, Storme is trying to prepare Donna for the onslaught of press that's bound to happen during these next few weeks. He tells her that Nick's been generating a lot of paperwork for him and he has to wonder what he's planning. The company itself has been put up as collateral to generate great amounts of cash. Donna says that she trusts Nick's instincts.
Rick hands an envelope to Nick that includes information about the staff that remains in the Forrester European office. He says that he told them all to cooperate with Nick completely. Rick goes on to confess that he doesn't think Brook's bubble with the Foresters can remain unpopped for long. Stephanie and Ridge will let her down. He tells Nick that he would do anything to protect his mother, and then says goodbye.
Ridge and Brooke join the gang in Eric's office for another rah-rah session. Rick has arrived, too. Ridge says that they're getting all kinds of phone calls and orders in anticipation of the upcoming show. Eric says they can be ready to come out with the new collection in two weeks.
Arthur Harrison has brought his legal team to meet with Nick. Before he reveals his response to Nick's offer to buy his company, he shares that his father didn't spend any time with them when he were growing up. He doesn't want his kids, nieces and nephews to grow up the same ay. Then, he hands Nick his counter offer. The buying price jumps, but Nick doesn't bat an eye. He has Storm amend the paperwork and then points out that he doesn't see any contracts with Forrester Originals anywhere on the books. Arthur explains that a verbal agreement and a handshake are all they've ever needed. He expresses his wishes that Nick goes forward with his agreement to carry Eric and Ridge's new line. Nick gets off without actually replying, but insists on a signature from Arthur before he goes.
In Eric's office with Rick looming in the background, Ridge tells Brooke that the only thing that could make this time even more celebratory is if her divorce were final. They could follow up the fashion show with their wedding and honeymoon.
Jackie is concerned that Nick paid far too much for Harrison's boutiques. And with 2 other offers on the table for other distributors. "You're building a house of cards, Nicky!" She wonders if he's losing perspective. Then Donna brings in a press release that Eric just put out – their show is in 2 weeks! Nick says that in just 2 weeks, the Forresters will be wiped out of the fashion business completely.
After today's episode, John McCook (Eric Forrester) walked onto the set and delivered a touching tribute to Darlene Conley.
"On January 14, 2007, Darlene Conley our beloved Sally Spectra passed away. It's almost impossible to convey to you how loved and respected she was here in our studio...
...And we know how much all of you will miss her....
...Darlene brought her talent and professionalism to our show for 19 years,...
...but it was her heart and humor that made Sally such an extraordinary character...
...We mourn her passing."
John turned and left the stage, and a montage of vintage moments from Sally's personal and professional life played to Louis Armstrong's voice singing "What a Wonderful World".
Finally, words came up over a still photo of Darlene:
In Loving Memory From All Your Fans."
