A solid week, with the high point being Brooke's controversial move against her sister in support of her man. Thoughts:
Secrets can be fun.
It's still unsettling to think of Oliver as some kind of user, so some are taking a 'wait and see' approach to this relationship with Ally. The foreshadowing with regard to Taylor was heavy this week, so methinks Oliver might be in for more than he bargained for if his geeky girlfriend turns full-on psycho at the sight of Dr. Hayes.
Thorne may have new energy since he started sleeping with Taylor again, but it must also be fogging up his brain since he seems oblivious to the reception this relationship will get from his troubled daughter. In any case, I love this development and hope the pairing will stay around long-term instead of just appearing long enough to send Ally off the deep end.
My brother the genius.
The wind really went out of Wyatt's sails when he learned Liam had convinced Hope not to have sex with him anymore. Despite his continued bravado and outward confidence, viewers could see and feel that Wyatt was truly sandbagged by the thought of losing Hope, and it was Liam who seemed more concerned with winning the prize. The bottom line is that it would enhance this storyline to have other young people figuring into this equation, as that is how it happens in the real world. Are there no other girls interested in pursuing Wyatt or Liam? Really? The way this triangle happens in a vacuum is annoying, especially in their work environments where there are models and young professionals galore.
Say what you like about Quinn, but she's definitely keeping things interesting right now. Besides pressuring Bill to exert some influence in his sons' battle over Hope, she is a deliciously loose cannon as far as Bill's relationship with Brooke goes. Who doesn't giggle every time Brooke repeats her new mantra that there's nobody else for Bill but her? Oh, it's only a matter of time...
Well, it felt right somehow for Brooke to bring Katie down a peg or two with those papers. It was controversial given that Brooke put Bill above her sister, but Katie using Will as a means of punishing Bill was not right either. Bill's expression when he realized what Brooke had done for him definitely had impact. The big lug nearly teared up. This is absolutely a compelling storyline as there are so many angles to it. The animal shelter storyline absolutely had an important message and there was some good footage and sweet animals, however, the cameos with all those people sounded like they were reading from brochures. It's too bad they couldn't have found a way to convey the message more organically within the story's dialogue so it didn't come across like a series of stilted public service announcements. As for Liam adopting a cat for himself and Hope - a tad presumptuous or another smart move?
