    More ranting. (CBS)
"The Bold and the Beautiful" for the week of March 17 - 19:

"B&B" made the most of only airing three episodes this week, with Wednesday's being absolutely excellent. Thoughts:

    No harm, no foul.
Ally picked up Monday where she left off Friday, storming around Eric's office ranting about evil and justice, and hissing at Wyatt. Clearly there is some sort of history behind her calling him Mr. Popular, probably to do with what happened to her at school. Eric was also cheesed off, having been left out of the loop at his own company, and who could blame him? Thankfully he took time afterward to speak to Ally about her over-the-top behavior - what is it with all the crazy people wanting to act like they're running the place? First Quinn, now Ally. It's also bizarre that Ridge has missed all of this drama, given that he also thinks he should be in charge. Anyway, Wyatt will likely get some sort of punishment now that Eric knows what went on, which is probably best so it's no longer hanging over him. Plus it will be one less thing for Liam to harp about.

    Right and wrong.
Will the magical floating head of Darla be enough to temper Ally's bizarre off-the-rails behavior? That remains to be seen. Understanding what Ally's suffered through will probably allow her to be seen more sympathetically. For now, she's still just scary.

    Truly done?
Donna seemed to be more upset about Katie getting with Ridge than she was about Brooke hooking up with Bill. Katie asked Donna some good questions, and Donna gave Katie some food for thought. Many wonder if Donna will ever find out that Brooke made a play for Eric and whether that would have her more firmly in Katie's corner. Could be interesting...

    Fixing it.
Ridge obviously felt so bad about leaving Brooke for Katie, you could just feel the conflicting emotions swirling around him, and yet he very firmly told her it was done. Refreshingly, when he arrived at Katie's place, he admitted Brooke had got to him, instead of telling her everything was great and then making the 'somewhat doubtful and conflicted' face over her shoulder when they embraced.

    Boozy Brooke. (CBS)
    Salt in her tears.
Well, Brooke clearly expected Bill to be far more shocked about Katie and Ridge than he was. Being the one-track mind sort of guy Bill is he wasted little thought on the new pairing and went directly on to telling Brooke this was a gift - now they could be together without her guilt having to get in the way. Ironically, like Bill, Brooke also has a one-track mind that wants what she's being told she can't have.

    Live in the moment.
Katie and Ridge's lovemaking scenes were romantically sexy. It's very much a contrast to the type of relationship he shared with Brooke. I giggled when Ridge said, "I'm not the same guy who went to Paris." No, no you're not. Hehe.

Of course it's eyebrow-raising for Bill to be teaming up with anyone, let alone 'Ricky', however, their scenes actually drew me in to the idea of them conspiring together. It was a nice touch to have Bill admit Brooke's condition scared him too. Once again an indicator that there might be more going on here than Bill just wanting to win the prize. What do you think of these two working together? Let know by voting in our B&B Poll: Should Rick and Bill team up? Vote!

    Boozy Brooke.
Wow! The scenes with Brooke slurring and crying her heart out to Stephanie's portrait while Ridge made love to Katie were very powerful. Not only was the drunkenness very believable, but the scenes managed to cut straight to Brooke's vulnerabilities. Emmy-worthy.

    Loved the blog!!

Looking forward to watching today's episode.

Brooke and Bill are the same person -- selfish, narcissistic and one-track.

I'm a little surprised more was not made of Quinn attempting to throw Ally off the bridge. If they are going to bring Darla back, I wish they would bring back her whole person, not just her floating head. Creepy.

I think Donna stuck up for Brooke more because that is what she is used to. She, like most everyone else, has been brainwashed into the "Brooke/Ridge Destiny" nonsense, and thinks the "Bridge" divorced relationship is somehow more sacred than Katie and Bill's married relationship. In her eyes, Brooke can do little wrong. Except make a play for Eric, but that will be explained away too, poor Brooke was desperate and trying to save Katie's marriage by pawning Bill's baby off on Eric. So what if she tried to hurt everyone else in the process? As long as Brooke comes off looking like a martyr, it's all good in the hood.

Did Katie ask Ridge why he broke off with Brooke over her communicating with Deacon? I would have thought she would have wondered about that, and if it might happen to her one day. Will is only one, so she has many years of dealing with Bill ahead of her.

Ridge obviously felt so bad about leaving Brooke for Katie, you could just feel the conflicting emotions swirling around him, and yet he very firmly told her it was done. - Candace

Oh, my - i didn't feel this at all. I felt that Ridge was cold, dismissive, and very withdrawn from Brooke. Clearly the man is an idiot - at his age he knows he's in love forever after a few hours with Katie. As Rick said, Ridge is a con - and Katie is his latest victim. I think that Ridge's attitude that Brooke should just accept that he's "changed" is psychologically absurd. If he had changed so much, he would not have come back to marry Brooke, and he wouldn't have been so bloody judgmental of her - not when he has been so consistently unfaithful to Brooke through the decades. Nor would he have jumped into another merry-go-round, with Brooke's sister.

As Brooke has been his wife and love for so many years, he could have handled it quickly and softly, without dragging it out in such long silences - letting Brooke be so humiliated. What a man does with one women, he will do with another, so Katie had better be watching, and paying attention to this "changed" man's behaviour. I see no signs that this leopard has changed any spots.

The love scene was spoiled for me because I couldn't take it seriously. It was sexy - was there actually side boob? But Katie was too little girl about it. There wasn't full on mature loving lust. I just felt sick to my stomach - knowing all the deceit and immaturity and self-delusion which is going into this fake vengeance relationship.

Ridges roll is suppose to be changing, I am so tired of Bill, Rick is a cry baby, he needs to remember his history, Bill needs to accountable for his, it's all about pay back.
Brook doesn't do anything worth watching, Donna is a Dunder head! Why did Brook go to Eric's? Oh for someone to feel sorry for her HOPELESS, so did she drive herself! OUI! OUI!
The interest in this show is Katie! You can bet an Emmy on that. Steffy needs to come back!

Aunti M is ever the optimist - so, I am going to say Ridge is not a con.....that people really do grow up, grow older and change. What we want changes, also. So, it is not inconceivable to me that Ridge really does want something deeper, sweeter and more solid now. Katie fits that description. But, as Heather Tom said in SOD, this storyline could never have happened with Ronn Moss - and she was right. It would have looked absurd. Yes, good blog, Candace - those Wednesday scenes were powerful. It is great to some some really good acting and character development these days. However, Aunti M does not like inconsistency, soo....Crazy Ally yelling "she attacked me!!" about Quinn was one thing, but it was OK for her to haul off and belt Wyatt upside the head and no one mentioned that to Eric! The "firing" yes, but not the slap - that's called assault, Ally in police lingo. And yes, I do wish there had been a small snippet of Brooke dismissing a taxi or the company driver instead of wobbling into Eric's manse. Hey maybe she walked - or rode her horse that gets mentioned once every 1,000 or so episodes. I had a horse once and he got me home once when....ah ...well ...never mind...

Wednesday was the best show that Bold and the Beautiful had in years . Everybody has been waiting for years for Brooke to get hers and it finally happened . It was an awesome story line . Having Katie and Ridge making love was beautifully done and very gracefull in good taste , I think the Emmy should go to Ridge and Katie for a very beautiful and beleiveable love sence . They have great Chemistry together and was beautifully done and everyone enjoyed watching this beautiful work of art . Watching Ridge and Katie brought back memories and emotions of when you frist fall in love and can't get enough of each other they brought it inn and made the writers look great. I think were use of seeing Brooke cry so many times even though she is a great actress it was like the viewer wasn't sensitive to her anymore . I feel she was only telling the truth about herself and she was in a pity party and deserve every thing she got , The writer made her so cruel that the Veiwers emotions are turn off to her . KKL is a great actress and is very beleivable and one of her great abilitys is to cry on demand but the writers have used her tears so much that the veiwers are desensitized to her .

Ridge did alot of soul searching in the year he was gone. I feel that Ridge Broke it off with Brooke over her lie because he was tired of being her door mat and was starting to feel empty inside . Ridge was starting to question himself if this is what he wanted for the rest of his life to be Brookes fool and leave that legacy to his son. Ridge had time to bond with RJ while in Paris . I'm sure RJ stayed with his dad more than in boarding school . Ridge wanted a qualiity family life for his son instead of his son being rasied by the boarding school where he has been for the past 5 years. I do beleive Ridge wanted to bring his son home and become a family . When he saw what Brooke did to Katie he realized she would never change . Brooke showed Ridge by not wanting RJ around untill after the wedding she was using RJ and wasn't a good mother , Ridge saw how Katie was with her own son . Ridge saw every thing he wanted in a woman and Mother for his son in Katie. He began to fall in love with her and her with him . Katie is loving Kind secure and a strong woman all the qualitys that he wants in a wife and mother . Brooke is selfish she is not going to change she is only a pretty shell of what a woman should be with out substance . Brooke wasn't worth the trouble she cause and is shallow he couldn't take it anymore.

I perfectly understand how Ridge would change. I think he reached that proverbial final straw amidst many years of scandals and pain. When he was in France, he realised that he does not want that in his life anymore, whereas Brooke has not changed. When you consider his tumultuous past with Brooke, I think he finally realised that Brooke is Brooke and she will do what serves her best. I think her drama and selfish ways are what finally put him off - like he was stuck in the past, with no hope for change. How can one blame Ridge for falling for Katie, who is so kind, honest, and giving? I also love the way they did the first-time-in-bed scene - it was sexy in a romantic way, just as a first time should be. Insofar as Brooke is concerned, while I never enjoy watching anyone suffer, I must admit I was not overly sad for her. When I think of all the people she has hurt over the years - she really had this one coming to her and it was due years ago! I hope that Katie and Ridge will be able to get through the challenges that undoubtedly lay ahead of them - I think they make a great couple! About Ally, she is annoying; and I don't like the double standard of her hitting Wyatt and that not being addressed. I wish everyone would leave Wyatt and Hope alone; Hope's character has developed in a more positive direction as of late (she feels more 'adult' to me). I like the two of them together. P.S. I sure do miss Stephanie, though!

I couldn't agree more with plutowillnotbedenied. You really summed up everything I think about this storyline and about the love scene with Kridge. I couldn't watch it and had to ff it. It's just not believable for all of the reasons you stated.
