He and Hope enjoying the sights and having fun sweet times is the same Liam he was then. He had no hesitation when Ridge came to ask him about his marriage to Hope. He was completely sure of his decision to marry Hope and told Ridge he would not be there if he was not sure. He was just as sure of himself with his dad and Steffy. He was by no means the waffler he had become. As far as Oliver goes I do agree that he loved Hope, but again just my opinion I did not see the same chemistry that I saw with Hope and Liam Cooper. Liam and Hope were great together and both of them helped each other out. Hope helped Liam with looking for his dad who was not happy when he found out that Bill was his dad as he had formed a friendship with Thorne when Thorne was a possibility. Katie and Hope helped him accept Bill as his dad. When you talk about stress Liam was there for Hope and helped her with what happened between her mom and Oliver. She did not need pills then and I don't think she will need them again. She only took about 15 pills at the most and certainly does not deserve the title of pill popper as Bill has labeled her. She has her therapist to help her if need be. I never saw the same type of love between Steffy and Liam. I think Liam grew to love Steffy, but in a different way then his love for Hope. I would like to see a new man in Steffy's life. I see her with someone a bit older and more like Bill. I do agree with all that want this s/l to be over. It has gone on far too long. I think Liam had a personality when he first came to B&B...and he was funny, to me anyway. I remember feeling at the time that he was pursuing Hope, that I thought he came on too strong....and the romance moved quickly and they were inlove, like in 5 minutes. Much how they always do their s/l....so it takes us a while to catch up. I liked Oliver and Hope together, up until he Pose. After that, whatever they had going for them, disappeared. I thought that idea was ridiculous, that Brooke and Oliver didn't know that they were not their partners, but that's just me  Now, I miss Oliver, because I'm so sick of Liam.They did exagerate the pill story, which was disappointing to me. If they were trying to get a message out there, they failed completely. They rushed it and ended it just as quickly. Liam did seem true to his feelings in Italy towards Hope. I don't trust his feelings, because he has changed them too many times. I feel there will be another fallout. I guess what bugs me the most, isn't the characters as much as it is the writing. The actors can only do what they can with what they are given. I totally agree with many points that you have made. The pill story was ridiculous and yet it could have been a very good one. The writers have fallen short on so many levels. They start a possible S/L and then drop it. The non use of so many other great actors is just sad. This may be OT, but Patrick Duffy pops into my mind. When you mention that these actors can only deliver what they are given is very true. I don't know if you have caught Dallas, but I remember him on the old Dallas and now on the new one. He is terrific on that show because of the lines he is given. What they gave him on this soap was not the same at all. All these actors are capable of so much more. When Liam first came to the soap I liked him and he did win the best young actor award for Daytime Soaps. He was good back then because of what he was given and I think it is a shame that they have ruined his character. I have seen that character back while he has been in Italy and it would be nice if he stayed that way. Just like Steffy who was this strong vibrant woman and now they have had her moping in Italy. That is not Steffy. The old Steffy would not have gone to Italy. She would be savvy enough to tell Bill to go pound sand. IMO she wouldn't even be into Liam. Bill and Liam are so different and I guess is my reason that I never saw Steffy and Liam together. Just like you prefer Oliver over Liam for Hope. We all have different tastes and I respect your choices and your reasons for it. I was not part of this site before this triangle started so can't help, but wonder if things were different on the board before then. At times it has been all out war and that is just sad. Thank you for your nice reply. I agree with a lot of your points too. I haven't caught the new Dallas yet. I remember the old one. I'll have to check it out. So many of my shows don't come back on, until the fall time. It really is a darn shame that they don't give the actors some good meaty lines that they can deliver. You hear more actors like doing the drama, instead of the good girl or guy role. More fun to bad than good and get paid for it. I agree with you about Steffy. I like her best, when she is sassy and telling people where to go. I mean, I do like nice people, but when it comes to TV, I rather watch them with layers. Steffy has spunk and drive and wouldn't be putting up with this bull. I don't think Liam is the right guy for her, even though at times, I've liked their kidding around with each other and laughing. They really never let us see their relationship, so I think people who are more of a Hope fan, see the relationship as more or less non existant. The writers should have build up that relationship too, so it would be fair to both actresses. I haven't been on the board too long. I think I came on around Cabo or before that a bit. I didn't post much at first. This is actually my first board experience. I do think, even in the last several months, since I've been on, the board is changing. There use to be more debates and discussions. I'm not sure if it's people losing interest in the soap or what. It is nice to have discussions, even though we don't have the same favs. Yesterday, someone brought to the boards attention about Addy, and her rule of treating people, as you would if you were talking to them face to face. I guess, I decided not to be confrontational, because I'm not like that in my every day life. I went a little OT, but that's kinda my story. Thanks for the discussion. Now I have to go to work!

I just want to say that I am a long time watcher and I now fast forward each and everytime I see HOPE & LIAM..the producers have dragged this out for so long that we the viewers are sick of of..what about Jackie, Owen, Bridgett or some of the other characters..lets get a new storyline already!!! |

It is just getting worse, if that is possible. This whole Italy thing is a big waste of money and time because there is no romance! Hope and Liam and the idiot, Brooke and Ridge are not romance either. Bell captured the romance in Aspen with Liam and Steffy getting married. You could feel it. And then again, when he tore up those papers! That is romance, Bell! Not this druel and dribble! The bloom is just off the rose of Brooke and Ridge. The are so done to death, watching them is like a dead horse take its last breath. They are so forced and Liam and Hope are like escort and the prom queen. Kissy, kissy, kissy! Nothing there. Cold, cruel, boring and abusive. There is no romance! Why spend all of the money for the Italy thing when you have the wrong couples there? Get a grip, Bell. You have lost this storyline and you need to lay it to rest and quick. It is already dead and nobody is watching. It really don't matter what happens. Nobody cares. |
