I am a soccerfan - it is the number 1 sport in Europe, and Klinsmann is from the same country as me
I don't know the US soccerteam yet, but I keep my fingers crossed for them.
In 3 days I fly to Europe and I will definitely watch the Eurocup there - it started today in Poland an Ukraine.

Welcome! I thought it would be nice to have a thread that was something positive like soccer. Klinsmann seems to be doing a good job with the team so far. I hear Germany is going to be a force to reckon with. They are about to hit their stride. I'm hoping Klinsmann will be able to build a US team that will grow together. The team will be good this time around, but I think we need to begin building for the future.

A whole nation was upset, when Klinsmann left - I hope he is doing a good job in the US, I am pretty sure he is
    I love this thread.

You are so fortunate. My son's favorite team is Barcelona!

Good choice - Barcelona is pretty good!

Tayfam, that is a great idea We weren't able to watch Maradona, but we did watch a fantastic player from Romania called Haji and he was great. We have gone to a few LA Galaxy game although I have missed seeing Beckham & this year Real Madrid is again coming to play them so maybe we will get lucky & I can kill two birds with one stone and see CR7 & Beckham

At least you got to see Haji. We try to go to at least 3 Galaxy games a year. They are not doing so good this year. I'm hoping after this three week break things will turn around for them.

You are so right the poor Galaxy are so bad this year, I think they are really missing their center back Omar Gonzalez, he was a huge presence in defense, but not sure what is happening with their offense it is sputtering.

I agree with you. Gonzalez should be back in July or August. Hopefully that will be the spark to light a fire in the Galaxy.

I.m sorry for your loss, but he seems to be good for the U.S. I like his coaching style. He is changing the way our players think about the game, which is making them better players.

Are you going to go to any of the Eurocup while in Europe?

Denmark won. I liked the game but was a little surprised. Portugal and Germany are staring now. I am rooting for Germany. This game is going to be good.

United States tied Guatemala 1-1 in an away match, this is a World Cup qualifer, had them 1-0 but couldn't hold on

As long as it isnot a loss every point counts. The schedule for the rest of the year isn't out yet. Hoping they qualify early enough to use the last games as practice.

Grandma rose thanks for finding the thread. I was going to look for it after I finished watching the Mexico game. I root for both countries since I have in-laws in Mexico.
