I'm done with this soap if they do recast. you know this is all probably a ploy on the part of B&B. |

Quote Griddle: I have always watched Y&R but may start watching Lifetime Movies. This is stupid to change actors because of hate mail. They DO NOT switch actors just because of hate mail. The actress is just not good IMO. They will probably replace her with some talent. There is a lot out there now that so many soaps are being cancelled. |

If you feel absolutely nothing for a character, they are doing a bad job. Hate and love is better than indifference. |

I think spoilers info is off. Last night I read B Bells in depth interview about new lesbian couple and he did answer some questions about steffy/hope/liam. Though I think steff/liam will end up together, he talked about changing hopes peronna as in not so nice, and pushing her range as an actress. Didn't sound like he was getting rid of her to me. |

I don't know Griddle - I never was on the recast bus before but lately, I cannot tolerate the scenes with her. Its hard for me to get into the show when in one scene, the actors are so great that I sometimes forget I'm watching tv. Then in the next scene, I have to leave the room. But if this is all true, than I think the blame is on Bell and not KM - she wasn't always so annoying to me. But when she is in every other scene for months straight (in every episode), how is she going to have time to work on her acting. She spends all of her time in front of a camera and had no time to work with a coach or think about how she wants to play a scene. |

She is just goofy and smiles at the wrong times, bites her lip, and drags out her words in a very unnatural way. It is distracting and it is so bad I loose interest in her scenes. JMO but that is how I see her. |

Her constant, dad picked my family over yours, so get over yourself was the wrong way to go. It smacks of entitlement and condescention. Yes Steffy, I know you feel slighted but what can I do to help?...would have been a much nicer reaction to Steffys animosity. Then, when Steffy reacted negatively, Hope would have had all my support. Make her forgiving of Steffys antics and conciliatory as she was in the beginning before HFTF. HFTF took away all hope of Hope being a decent person. Instead you continued with Hope being snide and justifed Steffy going after to her as retaliation. In all fairness to TPTB and the writers, all characters have a great range of freedom in expressing the words on the paper. They, as actors make the character "their own." Two actors can read the same lines and give a totally different performance. An actress with many layers can get sympathy where another would not. The way these two actors portray their characters has more to do with their popularity than the writing can ever do! Thanks for the info....the writers did a good job creating a heroine in Bridget...she herself had many of the same problems as hope but never became a victim but a strong woman. Many of my favourite scenes were when Bridget went toe to toe with Brooke. I can't remember the actresses name but she was great. Agreed! |

There is a lot out there now that so many soaps are being cancelled. I have to disagree - for example: I hate Brooke but love KKL; I dislike Hope and do not like the actress' interpretation of her. These can be two separate things. KM's performances as of late have been distracting. But I as I stated in an earlier post, I think this is Bell's fault and KM can improve if the set her up for success. Right now, I think she has too much material to work with to actually spend time on it and figure out how she wants to handle the scene. If KM stayed and improved, I would be completely behind her even though I would probably not like the character. She's not a bad actress at all. The OP spoiler info was that Bell was going to change Dope's persona and push her range as an actress UNTIL her contract was up. Then change the direction of Hope with a new actress putting her back to heroine status. He obviously know heroine status will not work with the current actress because everyone hates her. |

Umm where do I start: I think a lot has to do with the writing and the direction TPTB go with a character but I also think there is an aspect of the actor that also makes a connection with fans. Using JMW as an example I completely buy her emotions as Steffy whether she is being a total brat, in business diva mode, scared or hurt. With Hope I only tend to see one side I DESERVE IT….that doesn’t make a character endearing to most fans. I don’t know if that is KM’s doing or the direction/writing but to me Hope is very one dimensional. |
