Casey lies to Maddie about where he got the money to buy her gift. Vienna tells Jack she lied she lied about the jewels being the real thing.
At the dorms, Maddie walks in on Casey shouting "Yes" when he wins a hand playing poker. She asks what he's doing. He claims he was just checking his grades, but when Elwood walks in and asks Casey if he's in Maddie appears confused. Casey explains that Elwood bet he would get an A on his test and he bet he would get a B, but he says Elwood won the bet. She seems surprised that he bet against himself. Elwood informs her that he underestimates his self. Casey changes the subject, asking Maddie if she wants to go shopping. She agrees. He says he'll shower and meet her down stairs.
After Maddie leaves, Elwood asks him what happened with the poker game. Casey reports that about 3:30 last night he was so far down he couldn't catch up, until he got a straight flush! "I'm rolling in it," he says delivering a high five to Elwood.
Later, outside the store, Casey gives Maddie an engraved bracelet. She's surprised, but says she can't accept it. She says she knows he got the money from his parents, but he says no, he earned it. "How?" she questions. He state he's been working with Adam on Gwen's demo, he says Adam gave him an advance. She kisses him to thank him for the gift. Adam interrupts, and she shows off her bracelet saying she has him to thank for it, because of the advance he gave Casey.
Realizing he was just caught in a lie, Casey suggests to Maddie that they go see the movie. Adam stops him... "Sorry Case, but that advance I gave you is for working, right?" Casey tries to explain that he and Maddie have plans, but Maddie disrupts saying she has some work to do anyway, and would hate to get him in trouble with the boss.
After Maddie leaves, Adam asks Casey what's going on.
"Look, I don't know why you're so bent out of shape," Casey replies.
"You don't? I lent you a thousand dollars yesterday to pay off your debts and today you're buying your girlfriend presents, and you're lying about where you got the money. So, why don't you just go ahead and tell me whatever it is you're not telling me."
He defends himself saying he wanted to give Maddie something nice. Adam asks him about the money he owed. Casey notifies that he paid it back. When Adam asks if he's gambling again, Margo approaches asking if they're arguing about what to get her for Christmas. Adam says she caught them. He goes on to say Casey thought they should get her a sports car, but he thinks they should get her a mink coat. "I guess we'll just have to get you both," Adam finishes. Surprised, she jokes that she'll have to raise their allowance.
Margo visits with Craig at the hospital. He assumes she's there to tell him Dusty is going to rot in prison for the rest of his life. Craig reminds Margo that Lucy witnessed the shooting. He says he knows he has flaws, but he'd never do anything to hurt his children.
As the doctor comes in, Margo asks if Craig's going to make it. He replies the fact that he's still alive is amazing! Craig demands to go home, but the doctor says he's not going anywhere. Craig instructs him to get Bob in there. The doctor says Bob is in a medical conference, he's in charge, and because he's in charge, he says he's not going anywhere, no matter how much their entire staff would love to see him go.
At the police station, Lucy stops in to see Dusty. Dusty says he thought they said goodbye. She admits she was wrong about everything. Dusty recommends Lucy let him go. He says she's a good person, he doesn't deserve her, and neither does Craig. She says she'll never condone what he did, but when he done it she didn't know the whole truth. She reveals that her father set him up. "You fell for it," she finishes. She goes on to say Craig made sure he would shoot him so he could get Johnny. He admits she was right from the start, because Craig played him. She warns if he ever tries to shoot her father again she'll wash her hands of him.
Later, Lucy says she wants to make sure her father doesn't know he set Dusty up. She says no matter what he hears or sees her do she is on his side. Jessica barges in asking Dusty what he's doing talking with Lucy! She advises Lucy not to talk to Dusty anymore without talking to her first.
After Lucy leaves, she asks Dusty what Lucy was doing there. She reminds him that talking to the victim's daughter is not a good idea. She wonders if he thought she might have come by to nail him. "That did cross my mind," he says. She expresses she's never had a client like Dusty try so hard to keep her from helping them. He tells her he needs to know the date of the custody hearing. She says that's not their first priority, but he says it's his. She notifies him the date is in one month, but says it's not going to matter if he's in jail. He replies that will give him enough time. "Enough time for what?" Jessica inquires. "Enough time to stop Montgomery if he gets my son," Dusty replies.
At Java, Simon asks Sage to pick a roll out for him, he says he can't decide which one he wants. While she's picking out a roll for Simon, Carly explains how she couldn't sleep well last night, because she was worried about everything. Like always, Simon notifies Carly that she has nothing to worry about. He says he knows Vienna too well, "she's all talk and no action," he says. He reminds her that they got rid of the evidence. She says she can't loose her children over this.
At the station, Vienna shocks Jack when she reveals that she'd like to report a robbery! She says she lied about the jewels being the real thing, because she wanted to protect Simon. He doesn't believe her, he thinks she's only coming forward to get back at Simon. She says it wasn't a one man job. He asks her to fill out a statement and they'll investage. She asks if he's going to protect Carly. He asks her if she's going after Simon or Carly. She says she just wants to make sure justice is served. She says she knows he's the right man for the job.
Later, Back at Java, Sage comes back with Simon's roll, he takes a bite saying it's delicious, but he must eat and run. After Simon leaves, Sage informs her mom there was a lady outside looking for food in the garbage. She asks if she can give her food to the lady. Carly thinks it's sweet and follows her outside. On their way out, Jack arrives. He pulls Carly aside showing her the report Vienna just filed! He instructs her to listen and tell the truth, because her life depends on it. Carly refuses to answer Jack's question. He says he already has his answer and asks where the necklace is.
The homeless lady wants to thank Sage for giving her food. She tells Sage she found something walking around yesterday that she wants her to have. Sage says she doesn't have to, but she insists. She pulls the necklace Simon and Carly thought they got rid of out of her bag then hands it to Sage. Sage's eyes light up when she sees the necklace! Sage thanks her and places the necklace in her pocket.
At Simon's place, Maria gives him the copy of the necklace he asked her to make. Simon thanks her, handing her a yellow envelope. On Maria's way out, Vienna arrives! Simon hides the necklace behind his back. She tells him that she went to Jack, and before leaving she says she's going to light some candles and soak in the tub, while doing it she will think of him in prison.
Back at Java, Carly says, "Well Jack, if you must know where the necklace is…" Simon arrives, interrupting Carly. With him, he holds the necklace; he shows it to Jack then places it around Carly's neck. He says the jeweler fixed the clasp. Jack thinks it's a coincidence that he walks up with the necklace just as he was asking about it. Simon says he knows, asking Jack what his interest is with the necklace. "I bet you could hazard a guess," Jack replies.
Sage approaches and says the homeless lady was really nice. She says because she gave her the roll the lady gave her something "really pretty." "Would you like to see it?" Sage inquires reaching into her jacket pocket.
Back at the hospital, Lucy arrives and informs Craig's doctor that she's a doctor. She goes on to say she will live with her father and arrange for a nurse to care for him. He agrees, telling Craig the ICU nurses will be glad to hear the news that he's going home. After the doctor leaves, Craig says he's speechless. Lucy says it's like he said before, "their family." She asks what he wants her to do. "Go get Johnny," he answers.
