    Panic.

    Monday, March 29 2010
Luke and Reid are trapped in an elevator, Craig gets more paranoid and Dusty has to be operated on.

Carly and Jack are shocked to walk into the Metro and discover a bloody Dusty on the floor. Jack finds his pulse and says he's been shot. They call the cops in. Carly tries to be positive.

Janet is at the farm house talking to Liberty on the phone about their new house being a sign that everything will be okay. When she gets off the phone, Jack shows up with blood on his coat. She guesses something must have happened to Dusty. He explains that he was shot. She nearly collapses. He tells her that Dusty is tough and she needs to stay there and worry about the baby. Janet refuses to sit around so he agrees to take her to the hospital.

Luke shows up at the hospital to see Dr. Oliver, annoyed that he hasn't changed for their meeting with the architect yet. They bicker and Luke explains he's been doing research and has a few suggestions.

Craig is trapped in the elevator of the Lakeview. He yells for help and then calls his sister to say that someone is trying to kill him. Margo arrives and has the door opened. She teases him but he's sure that someone rigged the elevator. Margo laughs at him until he explains that he has a stalker and someone broke into his room. He shows her one of the notes. "What did you do?" she asks. When she points out that getting the cops involved means that they will be going through all of his stuff, he wanders off and takes a call. Carly tips him off about Dusty. He turns to Margo and says that the stalking is all in his imagination.

After they run off to the hospital, Reid and Luke walk into the lobby and bicker about the new hospital wing. They get into the elevator right before someone puts the sign that it's broken up. The elevator stalls. Reid begins panicking and sweating. Luke guesses that he's claustrophobic and begins teasing him. When he jumps up and down, Reid flips out and grabs him. Luke makes him think of his happy place so he will calm down. Reid begins babbling about how wonderful the brain is. The doctor calms down and the door opens.

At the hospital, Carly talks to a nurse about Dusty. She explains that Dusty was shot in the head and they're waiting for Dr. Oliver to come and operate on him. Craig and Margo arrive to check in. Margo runs off and Carly complains about how everything is falling apart. They look at Dusty's phone. There's a picture of Johnny on it. Janet runs in, desperate to see her fiance. She begs a nurse to let her in to see him.

Janet enters Dusty's room. She takes his hand and tells him that he's the only man who would go out with a 'crazy mixed up pregnant lady with a sick kid'. She wants to live with him and be a family.

Carly tries to keep Jack calm but he's flipping out. "I gotta find the guy who did this to Brad!" he shouts. She tells him this has nothing to do with his brother and won't end the same way. They wonder how this can be happening to them now. He worries that they're cursed but she insists they aren't. She tells him that things are bad and he's going to have to fake being a hero for Janet's sake. He promises that he won't fail. They kiss. Janet returns to them and asks Jack to find whoever did this to Dusty.

Craig walks the street and wonders if he's being paranoid.

Jack returns to the crime scene to go over things with Margo. One of the cops explains that they have something on the security tape. They watch it and figure out that it was a personal attack, not a robbery.

Reid and Luke arrive at the hospital. Dr. Oliver blows off Janet and Carly and bustles off to the operating room. Carly and Janet go down to the chapel. Janet asks her to pray with her. She wonders if her faith will ever be rewarded. Carly says her faith seems limitless. As they talk, Janet begins having spasms.

Luke wanders down the corridor and runs into Noah. He explains that Dr. Oliver is stuck in emergency surgery and tells him about being stuck in an elevator with him. Luke sits down and says he doesn't want them to have any secrets. He explains that he is helping to find the new neurology wing. Noah's impressed that he will be helping so many people and is finally getting along with Reid. The doctor wanders by and tells them that the operation was quick and dirty but Dusty will be fine. Luke's impressed that he's acting like this is nothing. A man walks in and serves the doctor some papers. He's being sued for malpractice.

Craig takes Johnny out for a sundae and olives at Al's. He explains that Dusty has had an accident and promises that this will be nothing like what happened with his mother. Johnny tells him that a man was asking questions about him. Craig gets nervous.

Jack goes to see Janet and Carly in a hospital room. They explain that she is being kept in overnight because of the cramping. Janet panics about Dusty so Jack sends Carly off for an update.

Next on As The World Turns:

    Craig chases someone.

Jack asks Janet to stay with him.

Carly can't stand seeing Jack and Janet together and wants to drink.

Unfortunately, its true. CBS announced ATWT's cancellation last December. I'm hoping another network will pick it up. (I've written emails to several networks). Frankly, ATWT needs a miracle. They might get picked up if they write better stories and use the veterans more. Although ATWT has improved; it could be better. I'm glad Jack and Carly have reunited. I like Barbara and Henry. We're seeing more of Bob and Kim. We need to see more of Margo, Tom, Lisa and Grandma Hughes. They need to bring back Rosanna for Craig. (Although, I preferred her with Paul). I hope they don't put Meg and Paul back together. They were boring.

well as for Craig he opened a can of worms when he went in to use the trust money now look his son will be kidnapped and he is to blame. He never should have done that I feel sorry that the son has to suffer for the fathers sins. Please Carly don't hit the bottle again Jack will be with you soon (I hope) and Janet dont be such a pain think about your daughter and Dusty and leave poor Jack to go to Carly.
Its your father that caused all this hope you find out about this soon.

I really enjoyed today's episode. I am soooo glad Dusty's surgery went well. I hope there are no residual effects. I loved the interaction between Dr. Oliver and Luke. I think they are so much better suited for one another than Luke and Noah. (Sorry, Noah.) Oliver has a quirky attitude...but, when he was discussing the brain and all of it's wonders...he was downright poetic. I like him more and more each day. I hope he ends up being truely dedicated to this new wing and gives Luke a little credit for his sensitivity toward family members....and, others in general. I think they could both grow as individuals, the more they spend together.
I feel so scared for Carly. I hope she doesn't slip. This whole situation is a nightmare. Hold on, Carly...hold on! Please let Janet really appreciate all that Carly is doing for her, and for goodness sake, let Jack see how amazing she is. I cringe every time he goes ga-ga over the baby. We all know he is a good father...how about he just saves all the gushing for the baby and not Janet. Once he/she's born he can step into his role. For now, let Dusty take care of Janet...seems like this little ole' bullet in the head thing will be a piece of cake. And, Jack...focus on Carly...OK?

    Hi everyone!

Earth - great post! ITA with everything that you wrote.

Dr. Reid and Luke rock - loved the elevator scene! I so love Dr. Reid.

I too am very worried about Carly. She is doing a great job of keeping Jack together and being so understanding and supportive of Janet, but you can see the strain and the toll that it is taking. Jack really isn't seeing what the whole nightmare situation is doing to Carly. I feel so badly for Carly. This too shall pass, Carly, just hold on. Carly, please go to an AA meeting. Go talk to Molly. Anything but having a drink. I feel so badly for her.

MW continues to hit it out of the park. She is amazing, a truly phenomenal actress. MW is my main reason for watching ATWT. She is gold and is a rock star IMO.

Totally loving Luke/Reid they are so much fun to watch. Reid is so much better for Luke then Noah (sorry Noah but you were just too wimpy) Reid challenges Luke and that's what he needs. Luke seems to be a different person a better person without Noah. I used to root for Nuke but now I'm all about Ruke or maybe hey should be called Loviler? Not sure if anyone can think of anything better let me know. Anyway Luke/Reid me likey!
