As the World Turns - DAILY UPDATES

At the Lakeview, Paul doesn't understand why his mother keeps talking about his father like he's still alive. She claims that his father wanted to make things up to him and asks if he could have forgiven him. "Who cares? He's dead and buried. Unless you know something I don't?" Paul asks. She wants him to be 'whole' again. He starts beating himself up about distrusting Emily and decides to go and see her. His mother reminds him they have dinner plans with Mick. Paul says he can't make it.

At Fairwinds, Emily searches through the bag of stuff she grabbed from Mick. She finds pictures of Paul and a brochure for the church.

At the church, Alison tells Mick that his threatening the doctor is creepy. He felt like he owed her for helping him. She asks him not to do anything like that again. He can't promise that. It sounds to her like he doesn't want to control himself. She'd like to help him figure things out. He explains that he has two warring sides in him and they battle for control. Alison tells him that next time he feels out of control, he can call her. He thanks her and she leaves.

Moments later, Emily shows up. She asks if she can do a story on Mick for her newspaper. He flatly refuses. She inquires as to why he chose to come to Oakdale. He wonders what she really wants to ask and what she suspects he's up to. "I don't think you are who you claim to be," she accuses. Mick tells her she's right. She whips out the file of Paul photos she swiped from him. He claims he was only researching an investor. Emily accuses him of using her to get to Paul. He admits that he is. When she threatens to end the project if he doesn't explain things to her, he knocks her out with his light.

Janet runs into Dusty at the Metro when he's trying to avoid her. She tells him that they can be adults about what happened and work together. They begin preparing things. He tells her she's being too hard on herself and she doesn't need to justify things, just live with them. "I'm not going to pretend it wasn't great, because it was," he adds. She can't argue with that but it was still wrong.

At home, Carly tells Jack that he's getting too comfortable there and he needs to figure out what he is going to do before the kids get the wrong idea. He gets up and decides to look for a job. Sage rushes in and tells them that she has just made the 'Miss Snowflake' semi-final. Jack had no idea she was into that kind of thing and neither did Carly. She needs them to take her to Detroit for the pageant tomorrow. He thinks she's trying to trick them into going away together but she insists it's no trick. This is what Carly has been afraid would happen. Sage runs off and asks Parker to convince her parents to take her to Detroit so they can get back together. He refuses.

Carly tracks Jack down in a field. He tells her that Margo says his job is still open and he has to prove to himself that he is ready for it. Jack has trouble trying to shoot as he aims at empty bottles. He keeps seeing Brad. She tells him that he is the same Jack she has always known and he just needs to find his instincts again. When he takes another shot, he hits the bottle. She gets in on the action and asks for the gun. Taking her hand, he shows her how to aim. They breathe together. Carly backs away and says this was a bad idea. She asks him to move out today. He agrees to move out. "It's best for everybody. Including myself," she admits. She's been trying to control all of her addictions. They sit on the ground and talk about all of the messes they've made.

Father Farley goes to the farm house to see Janet. She confesses that she has broken her vows and is afraid she can't find a way back. "I was unfaithful to my husband," she explains. The priest tells her that she has to forgive herself.

Carly and Jack stop by the farm house. Carly leaves fast when she sees Janet is there. Janet informs Jack that she had a long talk with her priest about getting an annulment. He can't believe she wants to erase their marriage. She begins bickering with him about Carly. Janet feels like she can't compete with his other family and that makes her crazy and do things she regrets. They argue about who should move out. She insists that she doesn't belong there without him. He asks her if they can make sure that nothing is left before they throw it all away.

Paul goes home with a gift and an apology for Emily. He should have trusted her before... as he's talking, he notices that Emily is unconscious.

Alison runs into Barbara at the hospital. "Does Mick seem alright to you?" she asks. Barbara says he has off days. Alison explains that she's had some conversations with him. Barbara begins questioning her and defending how 'passionate' Mick is. "What exactly is your interest?" she demands, wondering what Casey would think of her 'obsessive interest'. As they bicker, Paul runs in, carrying Emily. They call for a doctor.

Carly goes home. Parker tells her that Sage has been crying about the pageant all day. Sage comes in and accuses her mother of not caring. She storms off. Carly caves and calls Jack, suggesting that they take Sage to Detroit. Jack comes over immediately and they sit down with Sage. She guilts her parents into taking her.

Janet goes back to work. Dusty tells her she looks hot. She's glad someone noticed.

Jack and Carly get close as they hide in the closet.
