As the World Turns - DAILY UPDATES

Seeing Katie in the doorway, Janet tells her not to blame Brad. Bud orders Janet to tell them he didn't hurt her, making Brad angry. Brad goes after Bud but Katie holds him back. Just then, Jack arrives. He holds Brad back as Bud goes on about Brad attacking him. Bud tells Janet to tell the truth and she backs up his story - she says Bud didn't give her the black eye! Bud wants to press charges so Jack arrests Brad. Janet promises to make things right but Katie tells her to back off! She follows Jack and Brad out. Liberty arrives and realizes Brad's been arrested because of her mother. Janet takes Libs back inside and they argue about Brad. Janet blames Liberty, saying she could handle Bud alone. Angry, Liberty walks out.

At the police station, Jack asks Brad what really happened. Brad angrily says it was all Bud's fault. Katie points out that Janet said Bud didn't hit her but Brad says he believes Liberty's version of events. Katie walks out. A while later she returns to see Brad alone. She angrily asks what he was trying to do. Brad says he was proving a point to Liberty - so she won't think it is okay for a guy to hit a woman.

In the outer office, Jack wraps things up with Bud as Kim walks in. She asks for Brad and Jack shows her to the interrogation room. Brad sees her and apologizes but Kim won't listen. She angrily says he has placed a black eye on the show - and if the charges stick he'll lose his job! She walks out and Katie follows, defending Brad. Kim says it doesn't matter that Brad was provoked or was trying to protect Janet because he threw the first punch. She leaves. Katie watches as Jack walks Brad to a holding cell. Janet and Liberty walk in. Parker is right behind them and, at Katie's request, he takes Liberty away. She turns on Janet and tells her to back off Brad. Jack returns and gives Katie Bud's phone number. Bud arrives and says the only way he'll drop the charges is if Katie gives him a lot of money - and Brad apologizes. Brad hears this but refuses to apologize, no matter what the deal is. Janet sticks up for Katie, saying again that Bud didn't hit her. Brad says it doesn't matter. Bud angrily walks out. Jack sends Brad back to interrogation and then tells Katie he might have a way to clear Brad. Janet goes in to see Brad, blaming herself for what happened. Brad says she isn't responsible for Bud's actions. She says she is guilty of possibly getting him fired.

Jack and Katie go to The Lakeview, where they find Bud at the bar. She offers him double the cash if he'll drop the charges. Bud gives back the money, afraid that Jack is going to arrest him for blackmail. Jack says he is there as a friend, not as a detective. Bud takes the deal. Jack and Katie return to the precinct. Brad is upset to hear about the deal but he accepts it. He and Katie leave for work. Janet pushes Jack's buttons, telling him she knows he still has feelings for Katie! Jack says he was just helping Brad and being a friend to Katie but Janet just keeps pushing. Jack warns Janet that Brad and Katie are happy and that she shouldn't cause more problems for them. She leaves.

Janet arrives at the hotel and sadly sits on the bed, alone.

Parker takes Liberty to the park and asks what happened. Liberty gives him the Cliff's Notes version of events surrounding Janet and Bud and Brad coming to the rescue. Parker understands and says Carly does the same types of things that Janet does. They play catch on the football field. Parker runs with the ball and Liberty tackles him, they fall to the ground and nearly kiss. Brad calls to say things are okay. Liberty runs off, leaving Parker to wonder what is going on.

In the stairwell, Brenda tells Chris that no one will find out why she really dropped Alison. Neither notices Bob, who asks why Chris would have anything to do with Alison being kicked out of school. Chris tries to cover but Bob is worried that Chris allowed his anger with Alison to cloud his professional judgment. Chris defends his actions, including helping Alison study and asking Brenda for a little leniency, by saying he was trying to be a friend. Brenda backs him up, saying Alison's work was sub-par for too long. She leaves. Bob and Chris continue talking; Bob tells Chris that he believes him. Chris leaves as Susan walks up. He tells her about Brenda's explanation about Alison's work. Susan admits she knew Allie was having trouble with classes. Bob tells her to get the facts before making more accusations. He meets Kim at Al's and tells her about Chris and Alison. Kim sides with her son.

At Java, Aaron brings Alison tea. Fay, another nursing student stops by, telling Allie that everyone knows she was kicked out because she wouldn't sleep with Chris. Allie defends herself, saying she wasn't sleeping with Chris but Fay doesn't believe her explanations. She leaves. Alison wonders how she can keep working at the hospital. Susan arrives and warns Alison that she can't keep blaming her problems on Chris. Angry, Alison walks out for her hospital shift.

Aaron goes to the hospital, angry on Alison's behalf, and confronts Chris. He defends his actions but the more he talks, the more Aaron realizes that Chris kept Allie in the nursing program. This makes him wonder why Chris isn't helping Alison now and he realizes the change happened after Chris saw Allie at the farm. Aaron finds Alison and tells her this, saying Chris didn't get her kicked out of the program but he isn't innocent, either! Allie says that Chris not sticking up for her isn't the same as him selling her down the river. She returns to work. She goes to see her first patient; Chris gives her some details and then leaves. Outside the patient's room, Chris asks an administrator to take Alison out of patient care! When Allie is finished with the patient, she is told that Chris has asked that she be removed from patient care. She can't believe it. She tracks down Chris and confronts him about getting her kicked of patient care. He tries to walk out but she follows. "The funny thing about big men, when they fall, they fall hard," she says and walks away.

Aaron finds Susan in Old Town and tells her his suspicions. Susan doesn't believe him until he tells her about Alison's call about Chris' latest move. He says Alison needs her support.

Kim returns to WOAK and is happy to learn the charges have been dropped. She warns Brad she'll be watching him and then tells Katie they have to talk about her new assignment. Brad tries to cozy up to Katie but she pushes him away. Brad defends himself, saying he would have defended anyone the way he defended Janet. He asks her to let it go and she drops the subject.
