    Former As The World Turns' Alice Playten Dies.

    She'll never be forgotten…

    After suffering heart failure, former soap opera actress Alice Playten passed away on Saturday June 25 at the age of 63 at Sloan Kettering Hospital. Alice was well-known in the world of Broadway and appeared in various film and Primetime roles. In 2005 she appeared in Oakdale on "As The World Turns" as Mrs. Lovejoy.

    Thoughts on the week of September 13.

    Well, it's the end. I don't really want to talk about what happened this week. Not that it was terrible or anything. It was certainly a better ending than Guiding Light received. But how can you end a show like this? A show that ran for 54 years. It's older than I am and the legacy it leaves dwarfs that of most of what's left behind on TV.
