    Anthony Herrera (A. Herrera)
Goodbye to a great actor. is very sad to report that former "As The World Turns" actor Anthony Herrera died on June 21 in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the age of 67. Fans may remember back in 1997, Anthony was diagnosed with a rare and typically fatal lymphoma. After his medical history-making donor transplant, Anthony had been in remission for ten years. He went on to be very active in regards to stem cell research and wrote about his story through the book "The Cancer War."

Anthony played Oakdale's James Stenbeck off and on from 1980 to 2010. His co-star Martha Byrne (Ex-Lily) tweeted, "RIP Anthony Herrera…so many great memories… He loved that dog pictured with him on Facebook… He died in a place he loved…God Bless… He wrote the book "The Cancer War." Please read it if you can. It would make him so happy…he fought that and won many times.”

May his family find comfort in their faith...
There could never be anyone who played James Stenbeck better; a villian that you sometimes loved and other times hated but always wanted to have around. Kind of like Another World's Karl. It would wonderful for CBS to do a tribute by allowing the writers to write an evening episode for the cast to get back together to say so long James. Lucinda should be the one standing trial for his murder. ATWT lost so many great actors during the last year of their run. But I must add that it should be done with as many original cast members as possible.

So sad to hear of Mr. Herrera's death. He fought a brave battle against cancer. Although I hated the character of James Stenbeck, I adored Mr. Herrera. He was a fine actor and he will be sorely missed by me and all the ATWT fans. Rest In Peace.
