Is There A 2-For-1 Special On Vasectomies?

    Wednesday, February 18 2009

At Fairwinds Paul goes off on Josie, telling her that by testifying she made certain that he would ruin Eliza's life! Josie insists that he has all the time in the world to create a relationship with the baby. Paul says he is too dangerous and he is incapable of changing. Josie argues with him. Paul turns around – and kisses her! She pulls away and slaps him. He says that proves he isn't a good guy but when she cries, he comforts her. Josie freaks out about being stuck in a rut and not being able to change her life. Paul asks what she wants and she admits she wants Dusty. "Is there a second thing on that list?" Paul jokes. Then he says he feels the same way about Meg and worries that he won't be able to just be her friend. Josie says he can do it. Dusty walks in. The men spar over Josie and then Dusty shows Paul the papers – which turn all of Paul's assets over to Meg. He says Meg doesn't want that, from either of them! "She wants to do things on her own," Dusty says. Paul demands to know why Dusty is so against him. He suggests that Dusty is looking for another woman to save and can't let go of Meg because she won't let him save her! Dusty walks out. Josie follows, telling him that there is nothing going on between her and Paul. He says it doesn't matter and leaves. Josie returns to Paul, who is irate at the thought that Meg sent Dusty to do her dirty work again. Frustrated, Josie tells him to do whatever he wants; that stops Paul in his tracks. "I get it, you're in a battle for Meg," Josie says. "But I am done saving people from themselves." She walks out.

Josie runs into Dusty at The Lakeview. He is sullen and says he is mad about trusting her; she apologizes again for the way their relationship began but says she isn't sad that she got to know him. She says she feels sorry for Paul when he suggests she is with the other man now. Josie announces she is leaving Oakdale for good! She refuses to tell him where she is going and then asks a favor – she begs him to find himself instead of focusing on Meg's problems. She kisses him softly and leaves.

    Paul is Set Free!

    Tuesday, February 17 2009

Barbara runs into Josie at the courthouse and tells her that Paul has pleaded guilty. Josie is shocked, especially when Babs says Paul refused to let Barbara even speak to her. Paul is brought in and accuses Barbara of going behind his back. Josie follows him and swears that Barbara had nothing to do with her showing up. Meg and Dusty arrive; Barbara begs them to help Paul. Dusty insists that Paul is a danger to Eliza, breaking Babs' heart. She begs Meg to reconsider. Paul tells the judge he does not want leniency. The judge asks if anyone will speak for Paul. Josie starts talking, telling the judge about Paul's breakdown and the way he cared for her during the kidnapping. Dusty interjects that Paul is responsible for Eliza being in a carjacking but Josie just talks over him. She begs the judge not to send Paul up the river and, instead, to find another way of punishing him. Dusty worries that Josie's ploy may have worked. The judge waits for a while and then says he won't send Paul to prison, which annoys him. He goes into the hall, where Meg is freaking out with Dusty. He sadly says he didn't ask for this and swears he has changed. He believes she is ready to forgive him since she came today; she says she didn't testify against him because she didn't want to be responsible for him. Meg and Dusty leave. Babs thanks the judge and hurries to Paul's side. He repeats that he doesn't want another chance; he says the only thing Eliza will know now is that Meg hates him.

At the farm Dusty tries to comfort Meg. She is tired of his help and goes upstairs. Josie arrives. She says she needs to talk to Meg about the hearing but Dusty won't let her in and reminds her that Paul is a horrible potential father. She stands by Paul, asking why Dusty is so mean to him. She says he needs to get a grip and stop coming to the rescue of random women and throwing away the women who don't need him. He slams the door in her face. Meg comes back downstairs and has heard everything Josie said. She tells Dusty she can handle all of this and he says again that he'll protect her. "What if that isn't what I want?" she asks.

Barbara follows Paul back to Fairwinds, trying to get through to him. Paul rages that she is only making things worse. Josie walks in and Babs leaves. He asks angrily why she spoke up at the hearing.

    Paul Gives Up!

    Friday, February 13 2009

Barbara goes to see Paul at the police station. She says they can still fight but Paul has already given up. He says he doesn't deserve anything from anyone. Josie arrives and tells Paul she is going to stand up for him and see him through this. He tells both women to leave him alone because he is worthless. Barbara leaves. Josie tells Paul to grow up and stop blaming his problems on his father; she leaves, too. Babs returns a few minutes later and begs Paul to listen to her and fight these charges. Paul won't listen. "You have to stop. I'm never going to be the son you want me to be," he says. Barbara is crushed.

Dusty catches up with Meg at the hospital. She has had Eliza checked out and is ready to go so he drives them back to the farm. Meg takes the baby upstairs. Holden arrives. Meg comes back downstairs and stands by Dusty. Holden apologizes for his harsh words to Dusty when Eliza was missing. They shake hands. Holden goes to finish his chores; Dusty offers to help. Smiling, Holden turns him down and leaves. Meg thanks Dusty again and then offers her own apology. Dusty apologizes for his part in Paul's caper, saying he pushed the issue. Meg is certain Paul would have kidnapped Eliza sooner or later anyway. Eliza starts to cry. Dusty warms a bottle as Meg goes after the kiddo. Josie arrives and insists on seeing Meg. When Meg comes down Josie explains why she stood by Paul. She insists that Paul wouldn't hurt Eliza and asks Meg not to punish him. She even tells them that he has given up and won't fight for his freedom. Dusty thinks this is just another plot; he thinks they should all write Paul off. She asks Meg to appeal to the judge on Paul's behalf, saying they are both as wrong as Paul. She leaves. Meg asks Dusty to watch the baby so she can see Paul for herself. Josie watches Meg leave and then returns inside. She asks Dusty not to hate her. Dusty says they can't have a future with a past built on lies.

Meg arrives at the police station. Barbara begs her not to hurt Paul again. Meg says she needs answers and goes into the interrogation room where she confronts Paul about taking Eliza. She says he doesn't know anything about love as Paul says he was just trying to have time with his child. Meg tells him what Barbara and Josie want from her; Paul tells her not to do anything to protect him, insisting he belongs in jail. With tears in her eyes Meg says she has to put Eliza first – and him being locked up might not be in Eliza's best interests. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't want you out of both of our lives for good," she says. Sadly Paul says he loves her and Eliza and can't imagine not wanting them both. "I'm done with you, Paul. I have to think of Eliza now," she says and leaves. Josie arrives and updates Paul. He says he'll get her money so she can start over; she says she doesn't want it.

    Black Market Baby!

    Tuesday, February 10 2009

In New York Josie tries to encourage Meg but she is desperate. She begs Paul to use his psychic gifts to find Eliza! Paul is reluctant but then picks up the baby blanket and tries to get a vision. He says this isn't going to work but Meg takes his hand and begs him to try harder. She describes a scene with Eliza and suddenly Paul sees an outdoor area. Dusty doesn't believe the hocus pocus. He hears a wolf's howl; Dusty is even more skeptical. He tries again and sees a statue of a dog in Central Park. Dusty looks up a New York travel guide and learns that there is a dog statue in Central Park. Paul gives Babs the news as Dusty tries to keep Meg calm. All four leave.

The thieves drag Josie and the baby from the car. She drops her bracelet outside a rowhouse. Josie tries to comfort Eliza but she just keeps crying. Meg, Dusty and Paul arrive at the house, find the bracelet and hear a baby crying! Meg wants to bust into the house. Dusty and Paul start for the door as the two thugs come out. They fight with the men as Meg runs inside, looking for the baby. Josie, thinking the thugs are returning, hides. Meg finds them. They go outside. Police cruisers arrive as Dusty and Paul subdue the thugs. They are carted away. Paul kisses Eliza and then the cops arrest him! Dusty leads Meg away; she thanks Josie, who says she'll be fine. Josie watches Paul for a long moment.
