    Liberty hurries into Al's and tells her mom that he has a job at Fashions. Janet's surprised and doesn't think she should push herself too hard. Liberty is sure she can handle it. They sit down and debate about Dusty. Liberty takes his side and asks her mother to give him another chance.

    Jack goes into Al's and Janet complains about her daughter getting a job. She stops complaining about her problems and he asks her to move back to the farm with him. Janet thinks that would be a step backward. "Think of this as a stepping stone," he says. She gives in.

    Janet meets her daughter at Fashions and they talk about moving back to the farm. Janet thinks it will all be fine so Liberty teases her.

    At the Lakeview, Janet flips out at Dusty after Jack tells her that the money she got was from him, not her father. Dusty defends his choice but she thinks he was trying to buy forgiveness. "You made me feel like I lost my father twice," she says, storming off. He takes out the engagement ring and stares at it.

    Parker shows up at the station. Jack excitedly tells him that he and Janet are having a boy. They look at a photo of Hal and Jack explains that he taught him to be a good cop. Parker tells him that all the times he's screwed up don't matter; what counts is the times he gets things right. As they hug, Janet walks in. She's miffed when Jack tells her he already knows her news. Parker heads off and Janet shows Jack a sonogram.

    Jack and Janet go to Java and look at the sonogram. They discuss names and chuckle until Dusty arrives. Jack makes himself scarce. Dusty sits with her and shows her the ring. She tells him she can't marry him and asks about Jennifer. He doesn't want to talk about her and gets uncomfortable. Janet admits that she still loves him because he listens and has quiet confidence. She wishes he could love her enough to respect her and tell the truth instead of trying to fix things. She's giving up the apartment and will go it alone.

    Dusty is at Al's visiting Janet. She giggles about her son and practices saying 'son' over and over. She thinks things are finally working out. He pulls out the engagement ring, but she declares she has to tell Jack about the baby. He pockets the ring and walks off. Liberty comes in. She's miserable so her mother hugs her. Libby begins telling her about Gabriel and how he doesn't seem to have a conscience. Her mother suggests she step away from him. Liberty admits she feels tempted by him. They mull over Liberty's options and Janet offers to help her out anyway she can.

    Janet and Carly run into each other in Old Town. Janet babbles until Carly begins mocking her and tells her that her life stinks. Janet claims she's not living 'a charmed life' and they start hurling insults. Carly says she doesn't want Jack anymore; she has her eyes on a bigger prize.

    Dusty goes to the Lakeview and makes some romantic arrangements. When he turns around, he runs into Jack and accidentally tells him that he's having a little boy. Jack stares. "Janet is having my son, not yours - don't forget that," Jack says. He wishes that he has told Janet that he's been lying to her about the inheritance money. Janet just happens to arrive and overhear this and stomps over to confront Dusty.

    At Metro, Parker and Liberty's family freak out because Liberty ran off with Gabriel. Jack and Carly arrive and he begins quizzing his son about the fight. Jack tries to keep them calm. Dusty and Carly roll their eyes. Jack calls in an APB. Janet and Dusty runs off to look and Jack wonders if Lib would run away with Gabriel willingly.
