Noah is at Lily's. He listens to his DVD and then throws it away. He calls Maddie over. When she arrives, she finds the DVD on the floor. He's grouchy and asks her if she will take him to the hospital so he can beg Oliver for help. She thinks Luke should be involved but he blames him for messing things up with the neurosurgeon. Before they can leave, Luke arrives. He warns them that Dr. Oliver is still impossible. Noah wants to try anyway. He and Maddie leave. Luke answers a call from his father. Damian asks him to meet him at the office immediately.

Noah and Maddie go to the hospital. He complains about Luke acting like a Grimaldi. Dr. Oliver walks by. Maddie runs off. "You can't leave him here. What if he trips over a nurse?" Reid yells at her. Noah continues asking him for help and admits that he doesn't like what Luke has been doing. Noah begs him to add him to his list of successful operations. Reid checks him over again and agrees to operate, claiming he is 'cautiously optimistic' but won't guarantee anything. He makes Noah agree to keep Luke away from him.

Luke finds Noah standing in the hospital hallway. Noah explains that he got Dr. Oliver to agree to the surgery. He tells him that they have to stay away from each other.

    A Conspiracy of Idiots.

Luke returns to Noah's hospital room. When he tries to help Noah button his shirt, Noah slaps him away and orders him to stop hovering. Noah has called a cab. "I need to get away from you," he says. Dr. Oliver was his last chance and now he's gone. Noah rants at him and orders him not to tell him how to feel. Luke refuses to take all of the blame for this. Noah feels stuck. "You can't believe that my feelings have changed just because you can't see," Luke tells him. Noah's feelings have changed, however. Luke admits that things will be different, but Noah is still the guy he wants to spend his life with. "I wish I could believe you half as much as you believe yourself," Luke says.

    Long Term Commitment.

    Friday, January 22 2010

Down the hall, Dr. Reid Oliver rants about how white bread and self-righteous Oakdale is. He decides it's time to get the operation over with fast so he can get out of there. Luke doubts that jumping into the operation is safe but the doctor is eager to take a crack at it. Luke doubts Noah is ready. "I'm ready," Noah claims. Reid walks out and finds Bob. He orders an operating room and a bunch of equipment. "Who are you? What are you doing in my hospital?" Bob asks. Luke comes out and explains. Reid returns to Noah and tells him to sign the consent form. Luke urges him to think this over some more. Bob calls Reid out and tells him that his procedure could actually make Noah worse. He won't sign off on this surgery unless he's sure that Noah is fully informed. Until they have the consent, nothing will happen. Reid returns to Noah and tells him that the operation could kill him but if he wants his eyesight back, he's the best man for the job. Noah repeats that he wants to do this and signs the forms. Reid takes the paperwork to Bob and orders an OR prepared. Reid runs off. "What an ego," Kim remarks. Bob knows he's unbearable but he's a genius.

Luke goes into Noah's room and breaks the news to him. He promises him that this isn't over. Noah turns away and asks to be left alone. When Luke walks out, he finds Dr. Oliver still there. No commercial flights are leaving because of the weather. Luke asks him again for his help but the doctor refuses and orders Luke to drive him to the airport.

Bob and Kim are walking. He worries that Dr. Oliver didn't give the boys much of an explanation. As she gets in her car, Dr. Oliver and Luke walk into the parking garage. The doctor climbs into Luke's car and tells him he can pick it up at the airport. As he pulls out, he drives into Kim's car.

    I Brought You A Pie.

    Tuesday, January 19 2010

At Lily's, Luke, Noah and Lily are impatiently waiting for Dr. Oliver to call. When he does, he's annoyed that Luke keeps calling and tells him that he doesn't have the time of day for him. Luke offers to double the fee. "I don't need your money and I don't want the case. It bores me to tears, just like you're doing right now," the doctor says, hanging up. Luke promises Noah that he won't give up. Noah says that no one else can help him. "He was my only chance," Noah claims. Lily takes her son aside and suggests that they turn to Damian. If anyone can call in favor for something like this, stateside or worldwide, it's Damian.

Maddie goes to Lily's to see Noah. He assumes this is a condolence visit. "Sorry you went blind. I brought you a pie," he jokes. She didn't bring a pie. Instead, she wants to talk about their relationship for her video blog. Maddie's suggests they go out for lunch.
