Once Dallas leaves Cleo returns to the room, and a confused Carly demands to know why she's impersonating Gwen. Cleo lies and says she's a friend of Gwen's. She says she knows Gwen's friends, but Cleo continues to cover saying she and Gwen just met. When Carly asks why she has all that stuff to look like Gwen, Cleo tells her that no one saw the similarity between she and Gwen so she got all the stuff to prove it to them. Carly starts to leave and Cleo asks if she can do anything else to help her. Carly snaps, "Just leave me alone, okay." Soon after she snaps at Cleo, she apologizes, thanks her for helping her and then leaves.
Once Carly's gone, a cheerful Cleo plops herself onto the bed and says, "There is no way I'm leaving town now."
Welcome Back Carly!
Moments after Will and Gwen leave, Cleo arrives seeking a job. Lisa sends Cleo to housekeeping and tells her to ask for a uniform. As soon as Cleo heads off to housekeeping, Will comes back and fills her in on Cleo. Cleo overhears and begs Lisa to hire her. She claims she didn't know Gwen was trying to get a job there and offers to work the graveyard shift to avoid contact with Gwen. Lisa apologizes to Cleo saying she can't give her the job.
Once Lisa's gone, a heartbroken Cleo approaches Will and asks what she did to him that was so wrong. Will's appalled that she'd even ask such a question and offers her money to leave town, but she tells him she doesn't want his money, she only wants to be their friend. He makes it clear they will never be friends and leaves a gloomy Cleo behind.
Cleo returns to the Wagon Wheel to discover Jade packing her bags. Cleo confronts Jade, but Jade orders her to leave town. Once Jade leaves, Cleo is about to depart when she spots a familiar face entering the room next door. She scans through her pictures and recognizes the woman as Carly.
Fooling Craig
At the cottage, a terrified Gwen picks up the phone to call the police. When she asks to speak with Detective Snyder, Cleo faints! As Cleo comes to, Gwen asks her when she ate last. Cleo admits she hasn't been eating much, because she's been trying to look like her. Gwen goes into the kitchen to get her some ice. When she returns, Cleo mentions Vegas and seeing her with Adam. A suspicious Gwen wonders how she knows so much about her, and tenderly invites Cleo to admit she's involved with Jade. Cleo continues to cover for Jade and encourages Gwen to continue with her singing career.
Later, Gwen offers Cleo money for something to eat, but Cleo refuses. After refusing Gwen's offer, Cleo asks Gwen, if she keeps her distance, will it be okay with her if she stays in Oakdale. Gwen tells Cleo she doesn't have to run the other direction when she sees her, and lets her know she doesn't own the town. "You really mean that?" Cleo asks. "Yeah… sure," Gwen answers. A relieved Cleo hugs Gwen just as Will walks through the door. Cleo leaves but secretly hangs around to watch Will and Gwen.
A Tearful Goodbye
Moments after Will leaves, Cleo shows up with flowers and offers them to Gwen as a token of her appreciation. Gwen appears confused, until Cleo introduces herself.
Identity Revealed
At the cottage, Will arrives home and Cleo, who was on her way out, pretends to be Gwen to keep from being caught. However, Will doesn't fall for Cleo's disguise. When she realizes she can't fool him, she removes the wig to reveal her identity! She begins talking about Gwen's likes and dislikes, and he discovers she's the girl from the diner. He thinks she's stalking Gwen, but she lets him know she's not a stalker, she's a fan. He then demands to know if Jade is behind her ruse. She lies and says she did everything on her own, but he doesn't believe her and threatens to call the cops. Meanwhile, Jade eavesdrops from outside. As Will grabs the phone, Cleo begins to cry. A sensitive Will listens to her story about being a fan of Gwen's and lets her go, but not before he asks her name, and then requests she give him her driver's license. After she reveals her name and hands him her license, he warns her that if he sees her again, he will notify the police. She gives him all of Gwen's things back, including the dress Barbara designed for Gwen. Before she goes, he warns her about Jade, and she promises him he won't see her again.
At Cleo's hotel room, Jade destroys all evidence of her plan! Cleo arrives, orders Jade to stop, but Jade refuses to listen. She asks Cleo if Will called the cops. "No," Cleo assures, and then continues, "You were there?" Cleo asks. Jade then reminds Cleo that she was only supposed to return Gwen's things and then get out. She goes on to ask if she told Will about her. Cleo says she didn't, and Will just thinks she's some crazy, obsessed fan. Jade fears Will's going to connect her to everything and come after her, but Cleo assures her he won't, because she covered for her. However, Jade retorts she wouldn't have had to cover for her if she would have followed the orders she was given. "Have a nice life, Cleo," Jade says on her way out. "No, I'm sorry," Cleo pleads. "Yeah, that's the truth," Jade says, and then closes the door behind her.
