Holden and the girls return to Lily's. She asks if he wants to stay for coffee but he turns her down. Holden tells her about running into Carly and Sage at the diner. He leaves. Lily sadly watches the door.

Moving On?

At the farm, Faith and Natalie tell Lily they are going to a friend's house for breakfast instead of eating her pancakes. Lily pretends to not be upset. Holden enters and Lily comments she went overboard to compensate for the previous night. Holden says Faith cannot forgive her until she is ready. Lily thinks Holden has already given up on their marriage. Holden wants more time. They continue to rehash the same argument about being together and not being together at the same time. Holden leaves and Lily remains sad.

Dance The Night Away!

At the farm, Lily sees flowers on the kitchen table thinking they are for Faith, but Holden says they are for her. Lily kisses him, but he pulls away. He tells her that her dress looks nice. She adjusts his collar and he pulls away again. Before a fight escalates, Faith arrives and they compliment her on how pretty she looks. Faith informs them she is not going because she has a stomachache. Lily does not she believe she is really sick and asks if she is upset about her and Holden. Faith wants them to kiss and make up. Lily says they will be fine, but it takes little steps. Faith agrees to go. She thanks Holden for the flowers and they leave.

At the farm, Faith asks Lily what happened because she thought everything was okay. Lily comments she couldn't follow her own advice because she is so anxious to work things out. Faith leaves to get ready for bed and Holden returns home. Lily asks if he can forgive her and he hugs her.

Change Of Heart.

At the farm, Lily wakes up in the bed next to Holden and wants to reach out and touch him, but pulls away. He wakes up, says good morning, and rushes out of bed. They go to prepare breakfast when Faith enters and asks Lily if she likes her dress for the dance. Lily wonders why they didn't know about the dance and Faith says it should be obvious why she didn't tell them about chaperoning. Lily says they love doing stuff for her, but Faith tries to talk them out of it and Lily relents. After she leaves, Lily tells Holden that Faith is embarrassed by them. Holden leaves as Lucinda arrives. Lucinda remarks she knows she is supposed to keep her mouth shut, but feels Holden is being impossible. Lucinda then points out that the dance would be a chance for Holden to fall in love with her all over again.

Carly and Holden drop off Faith and Parker at school at the same time. Carly remarks that Holden looks a little bit down. After small talk, Carly tells Holden she has to head in to volunteer to chaperone the dance, but without Jack. Holden says Lily thought it was a bad idea for them to go. Holden tells Carly he and Lily have changed and they need time to move forward. Carly tells him that she and Jack just had a similar argument. Carly thinks Holden should chaperone the dance with her. He happily agrees.

One Is The Lonliest Number.

Carly calls Holden at the farm and asks if the girls can come over and help Sage with a school project. Lily walks in and wants to talk but Holden does not. Lily doesn't want to live in the house like two strangers and Holden thinks that is what they are. Faith and Natalie walk in and want to know why everything is falling apart. Lily insists everything is fine and they were talking about the girls going over to see Sage. As they go upstairs, Holden tells them everything is fine but Faith says they can't be happy if Holden and Lily are not. Lily thinks they should act more loving together but Holden doesn't want to put on an act. Lily states the truth is that she loves him, but Holden feels tricked and thinks she is playing games. Lily yells that she can't win with him and asks if he wants her to go away again. Holden says he didn't say that and the girls arrive to leave. Lily tells the girls not to worry, but looks worried as they leave.

Sage wants to call Jack so he can see their play that she is putting together but Carly won't let her. Sage says it was fun when Jack slept over and wants to do it again but Carly says he won't be doing that. Holden and the girls arrive and Carly says she will call them when they are done. The girls don't want Holden to leave and Carly wants him to stay, too. Carly thanks him for staying. Holden says the girls have been having a rough time and this might help. Carly tells him he has every reason to be angry with her but hopes he will forgive her. Holden admits he is disappointed but one day he hopes he can get over her betrayal. Carly pleads she felt like she owed Lily, and is really tired of seeing that disappointed look on people's faces. Carly and Holden sit on the sofa and watch the girls act out a story about children whose parents are always fighting, but how they work it out to get back together. Carly and Holden cheer them on but seem sad. The girls leave to get changed and Carly says she wishes she could give Sage what she wants, "The picture perfect family." As they leave, Holden and Carly smile at one another and wish the other good luck with their families.

A Plan For Seduction!

Lily arrives at Carly's with the girls and Ethan in tow. Carly is having second-thoughts about their plans for Holden's seduction. She points out all the times she didn't listen to Lily's advice to take things slowly with Jack; Lily says this is different so Carly gives in. Jack arrives and asks what is going on. Parker, JJ and Sage go into the back yard to play with Faith and Natalie. Jack is sufficiently distracted and Lily says Carly is just helping her by taking care of the kids so she can have dinner with Lucinda. Jack asks about Holden but Lily says she hasn't been able to reach him. Jack starts to leave, too, but Carly stops him. She says she can't handle all the kids and dinner alone. Jack is pleased that she's asking for his help and agrees to stay. A while later, Jack says they should get the girls and Ethan ready to go but Carly stalls him, saying it would be nice if the kids could stay. Jack says she'll have to clear it with Lily first. Carly is about to call when the timer in the kitchen goes off, distracting her.

Janet vs. Katie?

In the kitchen, Lily listens as Holden tells Faith that Lily took his breath away. Holden turns and sees her there. Natalie walks in, wanting to stay home from school. Holden won't hear of it and sends the girls to get their books. Alone, Lily wonders if the girls can ever understand why she needed to leave. She asks if they can spend the day together but Holden says he has work and errands. Lily says she'll be home when he gets back.
