    I'm Not Your Pet Incubator!

    Wednesday, October 14 2009

On the street, Janet runs up to Parker looking for Liberty. He explains that she didn't get to take the test and it was really Emily's fault. Janet starts to erupt. "The two of you just want Liberty's baby and the fact that her life is hanging by a thread seems to mean nothing," he tells her, storming off as Brad arrives with balloons. She explains what happened and they grumble until she lets it slip that she still wants to adopt the baby. Brad isn't happy but she insists that it's the only way. He accuses her of being consumed with 'baby lust' and tells her to get one of her own.

Liberty sits in the park. Jack spots her and calls her parents. They arrive and stand on the road arguing about what they should do. Jack reminds them that their daughter just needs her parents right now. They walk over to her. "Libby Lu!" Janet says with open arms. They hug her.

Katie tries to drag Vienna from the burning diner. When she can't move her anymore, she calls for help. Brad rushes in and drags Vienna off the floor.

Vienna is taken to the hospital. Brad arrives with Katie and wants her checked out. He stays with her as a nurse checks her vitals. She asks Brad to calm down. Henry rushes in and checks on Vienna. He asks the doctor if they have any idea what started the fire. As he goes to Vienna's room, some flowers arrive for him from Ralph. "The circle of life is a beautiful thing, don't break it," the card reads. As he sits down, his mother rushes in and babbles to him before offering him some chocolates. He shows her the card and tells her that all of this is her fault. Henry wants Ralph out of his life and he can't keep lying to Vienna. She thinks he's an idiot if he wants to confess.

Henry goes to see Katie. He tells her how sorry he is and offers to get to the bottom of things with the fire. "I know where you were tonight. Are you mad?" she confronts him. He explains the deal with Ralph and Barbara freezing the accounts. "So your solution was to unfreeze Barbara?" she asks. He says it was his mother's idea and worries that it hasn't solved anything. She thinks he's being ridiculous and should remember that Vienna is okay. Brad comes in and takes Katie away. "We all got lucky today," he says.

Brad and Katie go home. He keeps worrying and promises to watch her forever. Nothing means anything to him next to her and the baby.

Maybe This Is All About You.

Brad shows up at Jack's and tells him they need to get Liberty out of Paul's immediately. Jack doesn't think they should go over there. Brad doesn't want her to be 'a baby-making machine for whack jobs'. Janet explains her plan to raise the baby with Jack. "Are you out of your minds?" Brad asks. He points out the way this will tangle things up for everyone. Jack can't listen to them arguing anymore and tells them to leave. When they do, Jack sadly looks through some old pictures of Holden. Faith suddenly runs in and tells him about the fight at the house. He runs out, telling her to lock the door.

Brad and Janet go to the diner to argue. He still refuses to back up her plan to raise the child. As he walks out, she chases after him.

Brad goes to Metro and tells Teri that her sister wants to adopt the baby. He's afraid that Janet is going to cause some serious damage. He asks her to be there for Liberty but she thinks she should stay out of this. Janet comes in and begins asking her sister whose side she is on now. Janet repeats that her daughter is ready for this and will get over her fear. Teri doubts that. They wonder if Janet wants to keep the child so Liberty will never be able to leave her. Janet asks to speak to her sister alone. Brad walks away. "Maybe this really is just all about you," Teri suggests. Janet insists that isn't the case. Teri still worries that forcing this on Liberty could just alienate her.

Brad goes to see Jack again. Jack doesn't want to talk. He finally realized tonight that Holden is really gone. "I don't know what I'm going to do without him," he says.
