    Liberty walks into Al's wearing a wig and startles her mom. They chat and then she walks out the door, spotting Dusty. Liberty tells him how stubborn her mom is and how she wishes she'd let him help out. He admires her wig and then heads in to order a huge meal. Janet fills the table with food. He starts splitting it up so she can join him. They eat and he wipes food off her face. She declares break time over and pulls herself away. He smiles to himself.

    Dusty goes to Metro and asks Teri for her help. He tells her what he wants to do to help Janet. She encourages him to keep nudging her sister along.

    Teri goes to see his sister at Al's and tells her that their father left them all an inheritance. Janet's shocked. She really needs the money and is overjoyed that her father came through for her. As they hug, Dusty watches from the alley.

    At Metro, Dusty is interviewing replacements for Janet. He sends them away. Janet arrives. He's surprised she came back to see him. She keeps her distance and says that she just needs to work so she can get out of Carly's house. He offers her the house again. She'd like to but she can't. He admires her willingness to be alone. She's used to it. The baby suddenly kicks. He feels her belly and says this is a miracle. As they stare in each other's eyes, Jack strolls in and interrupts. He feels her belly too and offers to take her home. She wants to stay and work and encourages him to back off. Janet and Dusty prepare for the night. She tells him that she can't work there anymore; she's confused about everything and can't worry about their relationship. He makes his offer again but she's determined to be independent.

    Dusty calls Teri to find out how Janet is doing. She tells him what a rock Jack has been for her sister. He decides to fly out there.

    After the funeral, they go to the graveyard. Parker calls Jack to ask about Liberty. Jack informs him that she left with Gabriel. After he hangs up, Dusty rushes up to them. He tells Janet that he loves her and believes in them. Jack tries to get rid of him. Eddie walks over and orders Dusty to leave. They begin arguing. Jack tries to back Dusty off. When Eddie lurches at him, Dusty throws a punch and accidentally hits Jack. They help Jack up and he orders Dusty to leave again. Marie runs over and rants at them. After some arguing, everyone leaves Teri with Dusty. He tries to assure him that Janet still cares about him but begs him to leave. Janet turns to Jack and tells him that everything has changed. He takes her hand and they walk over to the burial.

    Jack and Janet sit in his car. She's actually glad she was chased away from the family. They get out of the car and find Dusty standing there. He apologizes to Janet. She tells him that he's her hero but she can't be engaged to him right now. He refuses to take the ring back. She begs him to, but assures him that she still loves him... she just needs time. He promises to wait. Teri comes out of the house and leads him away. Jack joins Janet and tells her that her family in Oakdale will never abandon her.

    Teri runs into Dusty at Metro. She's missed him. He's drinking and guesses she doesn't know the latest. They sit down and he explains what happened. Janet and Jack arrive. Teri runs into her sister's arms. They cry and decide to tell their mother together. When the women leave, Dusty accuses Jack of using this as his last chance to make up for his failings. "You always come up short and I have to pick up the pieces," Dusty says, reminding him that he divorced Janet. When he tells Jack to leave her alone, Janet returns and says she doesn't want that. Dusty leaves. Teri doesn't understand why they're letting Jack stay involved and says she wants him gone. Janet gives in and sends him away, thanking him for his help. Alone, the sisters discuss everything they think they missed out on with their father. Janet blames herself for his death. Liberty arrives and hugs her mom. She tells her that she's finished her chemo and then Teri calls her mom with the bad news. When Janet leaves to get ready, the other Ciccone women complain about Jack hanging around.

    Dusty goes to see Craig at the Lakeview. He wants to take Johnny out for ice cream. Craig digs into what's gone wrong with Janet. "You want to do what's right by Janet? Let her go," Craig says. Dusty gets angry. Carly interrupts them before they can break out their fists. The three of them argue about how they are trying to manipulate things. Dusty walks away. Carly tells Craig he's a jerk. Craig tells her again that he'll always put her happiness first and he'll be waiting for her. She says he'll be waiting a long time.

    Liberty calls Dusty over to Fashions and then sends him in to talk to her mom. He tells her that he still loves her and wants to marry her. She thinks everything has changed. They argue about what happened and he asks her to let him come to the funeral. She can't do that. When she looks at him, she sees her father.
