    A Conspiracy of Idiots.

    Monday, January 25 2010

When Dr. Oliver tries to drive out of the parking garage, he drives right into Kim's car. Luke and Bob help her out of the car. Reid honks at them until Luke gets him out of the car. Dr. Oliver is ready to leave but Luke points out that he just hit someone. "What are you gonna do? String me up in the town square?" Reid taunts. They bicker. Kim tells Luke to let the doctor go. A cop comes over and demands Reid's license and registration. "Can you just pull out your gun and shoot me?" the doctor jokes. Luke explains that the doctor basically stole his car. When the cop hands over a summons, Reid crumples it up and throws it. The cop arrests him. Luke picks it up and reads the charges to Bob and Kim. They chuckle.

Bob takes Kim inside and has her checked out. She thinks he's worrying too much. They tease each other. Kim thinks this is all ridiculous. They talk about what a talented jerk Dr. Oliver is and then Bob leaves to check on her tests.

"I've run into a conspiracy of idiots... with a few jerks thrown in," Dr. Oliver complains to the judge when he's taken to court. He gives him his story and requests his phone back so he can buy a ticket out of town. The judge says he's a flight risk and remands him to custody for a month. Reid starts to blow up. Bob arrives and asks to speak. When he tries to explain what happened, Reid begins interrupting. Bob asks him to shut up and then tells the doctor that he would like to see him locked up if he wasn't such a good surgeon. He offers to let Reid be released into his recognizance until his trial. Reid would rather have the firing squad. The judge sides with Bob. "You can thank me later," he tells Oliver.

Bob returns to the hospital and tells Kim what he just did. She's sure he wants to teach Oliver a lesson. He claims he can use him on the staff. "He is going to drive you so crazy," Kim says. Bob claims bedside manner is teachable but genius isn't. He flirts with her and they kiss.

    Long Term Commitment.

    Friday, January 22 2010

At the hospital, Dusty is talking to Bob about Liberty's care. Bob offers to do what he can, but he wonders why Dusty is invested in this. Dusty says that Janet is a friend and employee.

Down the hall, Dr. Reid Oliver rants about how white bread and self-righteous Oakdale is. He decides it's time to get the operation over with fast so he can get out of there. Luke doubts that jumping into the operation is safe but the doctor is eager to take a crack at it. Luke doubts Noah is ready. "I'm ready," Noah claims. Reid walks out and finds Bob. He orders an operating room and a bunch of equipment. "Who are you? What are you doing in my hospital?" Bob asks. Luke comes out and explains. Reid returns to Noah and tells him to sign the consent form. Luke urges him to think this over some more. Bob calls Reid out and tells him that his procedure could actually make Noah worse. He won't sign off on this surgery unless he's sure that Noah is fully informed. Until they have the consent, nothing will happen. Reid returns to Noah and tells him that the operation could kill him but if he wants his eyesight back, he's the best man for the job. Noah repeats that he wants to do this and signs the forms. Reid takes the paperwork to Bob and orders an OR prepared. Reid runs off. "What an ego," Kim remarks. Bob knows he's unbearable but he's a genius.

Bob and Kim find Luke pacing in a waiting room. Dr. Oliver comes out and explains that he's not going to operate. After looking at the scans, he's realized that many operations will actually be necessary. "That's a long term commitment and I came here for a one night stand," he says. In spite of Luke's protests, he walks away. Bob and Kim tell him that they can plan the next step together. Luke is afraid that Noah will be devastated that he didn't get the surgery. As Reid walks by to the exit, Luke stops him and refuses to let him leave on the Grimaldi jet. Reid sneers, shrugs and walks away again.

Bob and Kim are walking. He worries that Dr. Oliver didn't give the boys much of an explanation. As she gets in her car, Dr. Oliver and Luke walk into the parking garage. The doctor climbs into Luke's car and tells him he can pick it up at the airport. As he pulls out, he drives into Kim's car.

    The Deep End.

    Wednesday, December 23 2009

Kim shows up at the hospital to drag Bob away from work and over to Tom and Margo's. He's reluctant to leave but she marches him out.

At home, Tom and Margo look at ornaments that Adam made. He tells her it's okay to miss him. Meanwhile, Alison is decorating the tree and remembers her dream again. Casey interrupts her. He's been watching his mother remember Adam and blames himself for costing her time with her son. Ali tells him to stop talking and fix it. Kim and Bob arrive. The doctor turns off his pager and begins teasing Casey. The round of apologies begins. Tom apologizes for not supporting Adam. Casey apologizes for driving him away. Margo thanks them. Bob apologizes for Kim's cooking. As Tom breaks out the booze, Bob tells Ali she has a knack for keeping his grandson in line. When Bob turns to Casey, Casey tells him he is taking things slow with Alison. Bob warns him not to take too long. Sometimes it's best to dive into the deep end.
