Gwen struggles for her life, gets away from killer, calls 911, killer attacks her again and begins to choke her, she passes out, Will shows up and shakes her to, comforts her, Casey comes to, Casey tries to get Gwen to describe the killer, she says he had on a hood, they both look at Will, he has on a hooded sweatshirt. As the cops arrive, Casey accuses Will of being The Slasher. Margo shows up, Margo questions the three of them, Will can't explain his whereabouts, Margo wants to know how he got in, she finds a splinter on his shoulder, he climbed through the window, the same way The Slasher did. The longer they question him, the deeper in trouble he seems to be getting. Dallas is outside investigating, hears a noise, shines his flashlight on Maddie crouched in a corner.
Maddie gets in Gwen's face, acting weird--evil crazy ...What were you doing with Casey?... She demands to know. She tells Gwen she saw them hugging, making plans for her to move in with him, she starts yelling, Gwen yells back. Maddie says Gwen is using Casey, and that she can't believe Casey talked to Gwen about his and Maddie's relationship. She warns Gwen to stay away from Casey for her own sake, repeating what she said yesterday, that Lia got close to Casey and look what happened to her.
Jade comes in and starts dogging Maddie, saying how everyone hates her, that she has ruined Gwen and Will's Marriage. Maddie says Jade needs to be punished. She says because of Jade, now Gwen and Casey are a couple. Maddie gets up in Jade's face. Jade says she doesn't take orders from homicidal Smurfs. Maddie has a flashback and runs out.
Barbara tries to talk to Gwen, blames things on Jade. Gwen doesn't believe Will is an innocent victim. Gwen says love isn't the issue, and it's not just about Jade. Barbara wants to know why Gwen can't forgive Will. Gwen's afraid he can't change, he's incapability of being honest. Barbara says Gwen can blame her for that. She apologizes for the hard time she gave Gwen when she first got with Will. Gwen says ...If I make him so happy, how could he sleep with Jade?... Barbara points out how lost Gwen was before she met Will. Casey shows up and tells Barbara to back off. She leaves. Casey gives Gwen a big hug. They talk about her and Will's relationship, then Casey and Maddie's relationship. Casey asks Gwen to come home with him, hang out in his room, write songs, his parents aren't around much right now, won't take no for an answer. She says ok, she says he's the best, hugs him, Maddie walks in and sees. Casey kisses Gwen before he leaves. Gwen hears a noise behind her. She turns and it is Maddie.
Henry and Maddie are having breakfast at the Lakeview, Eve has summoned them. She shows up with her husband, Louis. He tries to hug Maddie but she resists. She is upset, wants to know why he's there. He says he wants to help. Maddie tells them that they are all suffocating her and leaves. Henry, Eve and Louis sit down, Casey show up and ask who Louis is. Louis wants to know what Casey has to do with Maddie. Henry tells Casey Louis is there from Chicago. Louis gets into it with Casey, tells him to stay out of Maddie's business. Casey leaves, Henry tells Louis he had no right to talk to Casey like that. Louis says he will move heaven and earth to help Maddie. Henry says he can handle things, Louis says Henry hasn't handled a damned thing but a cocktail shaker. He and Maddie were very close while she was in Chicago and he's there to help her.
At the police station, Eve has been trying to find a psychologist. Henry says Maddie doesn't need one, she needs a ticket out of town, he wants to get her a new identity, send her away. Eve tells Henry not to dare mentioned such a ridiculous plan to Maddie. In the interrogation room Casey talks to Maddie but she doesn't want his help. He says, ...You didn't do this, Maddie!... She asks, ...How do you know?!... Casey gives her a CD he made of them and talks about the future. She tells him she can't be a part of his future. She tells him he could be next if he doesn't stay away from her. Casey says he can't quit them, tries to convince her that he knows it wasn't her who killed Lia. She asks him how he knows what's real, he says he knows it's real between them, tries to get close, but Maddie holds back.
Casey argues with Margo, tells his mother she shouldn't be honing in on Maddie and find the killer. Jessica, Maddie's attorney, shows up. She dismisses Henry and talks to Margo. Henry goes into the interrogation room and talks to Maddie. She asks, ...What if I did it?... Henry refuses to believe it, almost breaks down. Dallas returns to the police station and talks to Jessica, She asks him what his gut feeling is and he says that to him Maddie is still the little girl he knew back in Chicago. Jessica goes into the interrogation room and tells Maddie not to say a word. Jessica talks to Dallas alone, saying that the more she knows the less this adds up, that the profile of the killings does not fit a rape victim. Dallas and Margo discuss Maddie and her problems in Chicago and that he needs to find out what happened there.
At the police station, Margo tells Jack and Dallas that the cuts on Maddie's hands could be self inflicted. The three of them talk about Will and Jade, saying they need to separate them, that Will is getting more nervous the longer his wife is not around. Maddy, wet and wrapped in a blanket, tells Gwen, also drenched, that Will and Jade were trying to kill her because she overheard them talking about sleeping together. Gwen is angry and refuses to believe it. She asks Maddie how she knew it was Will and Jade that she saw. Maddy starts having another flashback and Gwen consoles her. Margo walks in and asks Gwen to leave so she can talk to Maddy alone. When Gwen comes out of the room, Jack is questioning Will and Jade. Gwen listens, looking very concerned.
Back at the police station, Will hugs Gwen and she asks why he hasn't bothered to wonder if Maddie is okay. Eve and Henry show up and want to take Maddie home. Dallas says she needs a doctor. Jack tells Will and Jade that they can leave. Casey rushes in, asking Margo about Maddie. He wants to see her. Margo informs her son that seeing him will make matters worse. She tells Casey to go home.
Henry tells Margo he needs to see Maddie, she doesn't argue. Henry hugs his sister for a long time and tells her that the police think she faked her attack, and hurt herself, but tells her he doesn't believe them. Maddie says, "Maybe I did," and looks bewildered. Will and Jade assure each other that Maddie didn't tell Gwen what she knows about them. Jade lays her hands on Will's shoulders in a very intimate way. Gwen walks in the doorway just in time to catch this.
Back at the police station, Will and Jade argue. He tells her to mind her own business, not to talk to him about his wife, and to leave, please. Jade obeys and Will and Gwen go home. Dallas and Margo talk about Maddie while Eve listens in the background. Dallas defends Maddie, but Margo is skeptical.
Maddie tells Henry she can't remember what happened and she keeps seeing things that aren't there. He brings up the sexual assault from her past. Maddie doesn't want to talk about it. She says she thinks she's losing her mind.
At the police station, Jack admits to Margo that he wants to use Gwen as an excuse to call Carly. Eve tells Margo she wants to get some help for Maddie. Henry lets Maddie know what Casey said, that he was there and that he cared. Maddie is really afraid she's losing her mind and starts thinking about the first date she had with Casey. At first it's a happy memory but then it turns sensual, then sexual. She picks up a knife in her daydream and things go red, then she's a nice person again, innocent. She's seeing herself as many different people, good and evil, confusing everything that's happened.
