Especially a Hughes, "What happened to Reid is tragic, BUT his heart will live on in Chris."

SHUT UP. We get it. You're golden boy is alive thanks to Reid, and I understand they're happy, but every time I hear that "but" I want to choke whoever's mouth it's coming out of.

I feel like in saying that they really mean, "Reid dying is sad, BUT what's more important is Chris is alive." Don't treat Reid's death as being less important than Chris living. Can't any of them mourn Reid genuinely without "BUT Chris is alive WHEEEEEE!". That's why I'm kind of excited/looking forward to a funeral (and they BETTER have one), because I want to be able to say goodbye to Reid without Chris' survival being the focal point.

And Margo telling Katie to pack up Reid's things! It's been (likely) a little over 24 hours since Reid died!

And I can't look at Noah (or really the Hughes) without feeling like I'm being spat in the face by the writers. I just really don't get why they thought throwing Reid under the bus for the happiness of others was right.

AND (to backtrack) what on EARTH made Bob decide to recommend Reid and Chris be co-Chiefs of Staff before they found out about Reid's accident. If anything Reid's determination, swift-action, and good decisions should have pushed him further to the forefront than he already was. Chris, sick or not, would NOT have been a better candidate for the job on his best day. I guess Bob just couldn't let go of nepotistic thinking.

On the positive side, Van's performance is so surreal it's unreal. He's taken me on the emotional roller coaster with him since Reid was wheeled into the ER and I feel just as drained and depressed now as I'm sure Luke is. If anything is going to come out of this asinine turn of events it better be an Emmy for Van Hansis.

THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! I was beginning to think that I was the ONLY person who felt this way! And all of these "slips of the tongues" when Luke is standing right there is heartbreaking!!! It's like he's not even there or they just don't care about his feelings and how broken hearted he is over losing the love of his life!!! It's like, that's not important to them...all that is important to all of them is that Chris will live and he and Katie can live happily ever after!!! My God, Luke has been through hell and back and no one seems to care!!! He looks like death warmed over himself and he's so worried about taking care of Reid's remains the proper way...this has just got to be too much to bare for him because it sure is for me!!!!! And along with the Emmy that Van so richly deserves, and has deserved in the past for all of his brillant work on ATWT all these years, he's the one core character on this show that should have had a happily ever after ending with Reid!!! And Eric also deserves an Emmy for bringing Dr. Reid Oliver to life in a bigger than life way!!! I'll always love them both and wish them nothing but even greater success in their futures! They both deserve it!!!

Using Bob's voice to say this. LOL
"What happened to Reid is tragic, BUT his heart will live on in Chris." LOL Sorry I couldn't resist...

I agree with you. Why do they have to repeat it so many times? I guarantee we will hear it 200 more times before the 17th. What makes it so unbearable is that we can predict it before it even come out their mouths.

Talk about awards!!! I think Holden and Lily should get one for fasted journey to New York. Did you see how fast they got to New York? I didn't see one person get on an airplane? I don't even think they had a commercial between scenes. I would love to have the transportation devices these people use. It sure would make travel easier to teleport in the blink of an eye.

I have to agree with all of you. This "What to happened to Reid is tragic BUT Chris is alive" stuff is way too much now.

I understood Reid's desire that his heart go to Chris and the need to get the legal stuff taken care of and the tissue sampling before the heart was not harvestable but this is over kill.

And poor Luke the only Hughes or soon to be Hughes whose caring about Luke's feelings and mental state right now is Allison. Thank God for Ally. It was nice of Kim to call Lily and let her know what was going on but I don't understand Lily NOT going to her son right away but calling him and then Holden saying he needed space to deal with the death. I hope after Luke came home yesterday they are kicking themselves for not going to him sooner. I've never seen Luke cry so hard before and to hear Lily refer to Holden as "Daddy" was so touching. I bet Luke hasn't thought of dad Holden as Daddy in a long long time.

And Noah - if he can't be a postive influence for Luke right now he needs to stay away. Luke doesn't need anyone talking bad about Reid as Noah is prone to do. I thought it typical Noah of late yesterday when he told Allison he didn't want to be friends with Luke and made that pretty clear. Why does it always have to be about Noah? You'd think with all the time those two had been together that Noah could put aside his petty problems with his former doctor and be there for Luke. I applauded when Ally walked away in apparent disgust saying to do what he had to do. That said it all for me. I so wanted Noah to step up and be the man Luke needs especially right now but I guess that's too much to ask.

Someone needs to help Luke and although Lily and Holden are doing all they can I'm not sure that either Lily or Holden are what Luke's needs right now.

They better have a funeral for him and the Hughes especially Bob better be there and Katie.

Dr. John's comments about Reid were nice yesterday but we need more of that and less of BUT Chris is alive.

Maybe Chris will be the one to say what we the fans feel about Reid's death as the previews shows he's gonna be taking it hard. I also want Chris to see Luke again and apologize for the callous words about Reid he spoke, as a numb, lifeless Luke was forced to hear them, before knowing it was Reid's heart he nows has beating in his chest.

I get that the Hughs family is happy about Chris, but it does seem like they are callous about Reid's death. I felt so bad for Luke; he carried out Reid's wishes in spite of his own pain, & was largely ignored. I can't believe that's close to the way the situation would have been handled in an actual hospital; in Soapland anything's possible, though!

Once again Katie will have her man but the two characters are dumber than a rock. I wanted Chris to die and Katie to go off make porn movies and take her stupid sister and brother with her. The whole family is a nut job. Craig always schemed, never had a job yet Lily believed him like the loser she is, Margo police chief and idiot and Katie a skank who is a meddler. But a good character like Reid died, who cares tho the show is OVER FOLKS. Da da da it's over.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I agree and Chris's character is how we say BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reid was new and fresh spunk wit charm and down right sexy that smarky smile.Luke was JUST coming into his own with a man not a boy like Noah.
Sorry to offend any NOAH + Luke
But Reid was much more comfortable with Luke it made Van and Eric feed off each other like true friends-first.
In Soap land everything gets pushed moved along at least the writers took it slow.

But messed up the ending. For L+R
Oh well I know get over it but when you just find scenes you like STICK with it!

I think Van & Eric should win awards!

Take that on cancelling a good show.Cancel writers NOT the show.

They say it's about Production cost. Yes because it's easier to put a stupid reality show on TV Cheaper.People who watch those REMEMBER you are putting REAL actors out
of work because of this mindless dripple.

I call it the "Springer minds" That is destroying TRUE actors with skill.

I am still hoping Cable picks up a spin off or ATWT.
If not we all will be venting for sometime.

I was not satisfied with Chris' scenes today. He is such a self-centered ass.

I wanted to kick Katie for saying Reid was repsonsible for his own death.

Yes, Reid made a stupid decision in trying to drive across the tracks when he should have waited, but ALL of this nonsense could have been avoided over a month ago if IDIOT Chris had just fessed up about being sick and received the treatment he needed. I really would have expected more of a doctor.

Some people may call it immature, but I really do blame Chris for this whole situation, and I don't see anything changing my mind easily.

And I get the feeling that the ashes in a cardboard box was Reid's "funeral", which ticks me off beyond words. What kind of memorial is that? Sure the ashes in the hospital and the chess piece were nice gestures, but the end of this travesty of a s/l is just insulting and poorly done.

I wouldn't be as upset if they had handled it with the time and care it needed to properly honor Reid, but they rushed it, as they always do.

All any of us can do is look back at the good times with LuRe. That's REALLY not enough to compensate for what's happened, but it's all that can be done.

I understand how you feel about Reid's service, however, I have to in part respectfully disagree with you. Yes they should have had a better container for his ashes, but the fact that it was just a small intimate service seemed right. The only person I thought should have been there who wasn't was Katie. Otherwise most of the people in town did not understand or truely care about Reid until this week. If they had been at his service it would have seemed fake and as a disservice to Reid. I found the small intimate service to be very moving and I had tears rolling down my checks as I watched it.
