    BIOGRAPHY

    Masters was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 4, and studied art history at Marian College in Indianapolis. After she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, she began working at the city desk of Women's Wear Daily and studied acting with Wynn Handman and Uta Hagen. Masters' numerous theater credits include her Broadway debut in There's a Girl in My Soup. She has also worked numerous Off-Broadway shows, performed countless regional theatre productions and has been involved with the New Group, a not-for-profit theater since it was established in 1993. With the New Group, she served as Assistant Director on 16 including the Obie Award-winning production of Ecstasy. Additionally, Masters has directed Off-Broadway productions of Soda Can and Dungeons. Masters co-wrote the films The Special, Mad Money, Played Out, and Loveland with Kelly Wood. Her television writing includes programs As the World Turns, New Hope Live, and The Sheenway School. Her television credits include featured roles on daytime dramas, she has worked in primetime as well as in dozens of commercials and independent film. Masters lives in New York City. Her twin children, Jenny and Jesse, are both graduates of Cornell University. She donates to charities such as St. Jude, Fresh Air Fund, and Actors Fund. In her spare time she enjoys interior decorating, writing, and art. Masters favorite activities are cooking, theater, reading, traveling, and babysitting her grandson, Jonathan.
