At the hospital, Craig assures Parker that he's already suffering plenty. They check on Gabriel with a nurse. She tells them his lung collapsed. Craig worries. Parker wonders why. "I'd be a monster if I wasn't concerned," Craig says. He wonders why Parker cares. The young man claims he's just worries because he's Liberty's friend.
At home, Jack is shocked when Carly asks him to move out... again. She's afraid that he will resent her for keeping him from his child and begs him not to make this any harder than it is. He's sure she has no altruistic motives in this and demands the real reason, assuming she's just angry about Janet. She moans about things and tells him they can't be a couple until she's the only woman in his life. They pace around the room in circles and she says he can come back when everything is settled. "I think this is a monumentally bad idea," he declares, but she won't argue anymore. He vows never to give up and goes up to pack. Parker comes in and tells his mother about Gabriel's collapsed lung. He frets until Jack returns. They explain that he's moving out. After Jack leaves, Parker wonders how his mother could push him out. He assumes she did it to stop him from blowing the secret. He can't handle the pressure and wants to confess but she forbids it. She wants Craig to take the blame for everything. Parker hates all of this but she repeats that this is all Craig's fault. She begs him not to tell his father the truth.
Tom is massaging Margo against her will at the kitchen table. She's pouring over her brother's case. After telling him how bad the case against Craig is, she asks Tom to take the case. He refuses. They argue. She worries and asks him to just talk to Craig.
Liberty is at Java searching the internet for information on Gabriel. It doesn't go well.
Dusty meets Janet outside her new apartment. He asks her if she needs anything. She needs some breathing room. A washer and dryer are wheeled up to them. Janet sends the delivery man off and then tells Dusty she'll be fine. She goes off to get things ready and Dusty tips the delivery man.
Margo goes to the hospital and talks to her brother. He tells her that she can think whatever he wants but he would never murder... his own employee. Tom wanders over and tells Craig he's going to need a good lawyer. She tells her brother to be smart and take Tom's help. After she leaves, Tom says he has his work cut out for him.
Liberty runs into Dusty at the Lakeview and asks him to help her get into Gabriel's room. They easily slip in and snoop around. She finds some pearls and decides to try giving them to Gabriel to see if they'll help him wake up.
Janet arrives at the station to tell Jack she's moved out. She quickly guesses that Carly has thrown him out again and beats herself up for causing more problems. He asks her to concentrate on the baby. She asks him to stay with her. Jack turns her down. She leaves and he gets a call from Janet's brother. When Jack talks about the inheritance, Eddie has no idea what he's talking about.
Tom and Craig go over the case at the Lakeview. Tom explains that he could get a life sentence for murder one. Craig thinks they should look closer at the head injury. Tom explains that Gabriel was beaten up before the fire. Craig continues to insist on his innocence.
Dusty and Liberty go to the hospital and discover Gabriel is in surgery. He tells Liberty what a great friend she is being and assures her that her friend will pull through. After he leaves, Janet arrives.
Jack runs into Dusty in Old Town and tells him about the confused call from Eddie. Dusty plays dumb as Jack explains that there was no inheritance. Jack insists that Janet needs to be able to prove her independence and Dusty argues that she needs help to do that. The cop agrees to keep things quiet. They shake on it.
When Jack gets to the station, he finds Tom and Margo discussing Craig's case. When Tom talks about the fight, Jack's interest is piqued.
Craig arrives at Carly's and finds her calling for an AA meeting. "If I were in your position, I'd want a drink too," he says, telling her they need to have along talk about her son.
