It looks as if Gwen (Jennifer Landon) has plans to continue her music career this summer. A press release states that Emmy Award winner Jennifer Landon (Gwen), Jesse Lee Soffer (Will) and Alexandra Chando (Maddie) will travel to Branson, Missouri (The Live Music Show Capital of the World) on June 6, 7 and 8 to film at various locations. The young lovers, accompanied by their friend, will be filming scenes to further Gwen's (Jennifer Landon) music career. However, not every thing will go according to plan, because Jade Taylor (Elena Goode), Gwen's rival, will follow them to Branson in an attempt to stir up even more trouble for the trio.
In June, 21 production crew members will also be traveling to film and direct the scenes, which are scheduled to air in July. Furthermore, the press release stated that additional personnel would be hired from the Branson area to assist with the shoot. "We are very excited about this opportunity. Branson will play a really big part in the story. We want this to be big for both As the World Turns and for Branson," said As the World Turns Executive Producer Christopher Goutman. John Wallen, owner of Concept Marketing, Inc. added, "We are confident that the people of Branson will welcome As the World Turns with open arms. Obviously we can't disclose the story line, but we can say that people will be talking about Branson and As the World Turns."
While in Branson, the cast members will be available for autographs and media interviews on June 9, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Grand Country Square.
Since its premiere in April of 1956, CBS's As the World Turns has received 12 Daytime Emmy Award nominations. Normally, As the World Turns is taped in Brooklyn, NY. The head writer is Jean Passanante, and Procter & Gamble Productions produces the show.
