All My Children - DAILY UPDATES

As David and Amanda are fighting about Jake at Wildwind, Tad shows up. He tells her they've got bigger things to worry about right now - Jake's leaving town! David and Tad bicker, then Tad asks Amanda to try to find Jake and talk to him. He leaves, and David tells Amanda that this must be difficult for her. Amanda shouts that she's done with him and his house - she's leaving now, and Trevor is coming with her! David gets defensive and says she should be thanking him! Amanda won't thank him for keeping her prisoner, and heads for the door. David blurts, "Six months!" She turns, and he explains that's how much longer he has to live! Amanda accuses him of lying - why would he be trying to have another child? David says he was doing it for Trevor, but also because his children were to be his legacy. She asks what is wrong with him. David says he has a rare blood disorder and is taking illegal drugs. Amanda is still skeptical, but David uses medical jargon to convince her. Amanda says she has to go tell Jake! After she's gone, David tells Trevor that he's perfectly healthy, saying he's not going anywhere - and neither is Amanda!

At the hospital, Jake tells his father that he has quit - and he's leaving Pine Valley today. Joe tells him how proud of him he has been. They discuss Trevor, and Joe says Jake was his father in every way that counts. Jake tells him he just can't do it anymore. Joe mentions that he and Ruth are making plans to retire and move out of Pine Valley. Jake is stunned. Joe admits he had plans for Jake at the hospital - to pick up where he left off.

Jake is back at his house, and looks up when Tad lets himself in. Jake murmurs that giving him a key was obviously a mistake. Tad admits he went to see Amanda - and that he told her Jake was planning to leave town. They get into a huge bickering match about Amanda, and what his leaving will do to her. Tad brings up Trevor too, and says he will lose everything if he leaves. Jake replies that you can't lose what you never had!

Damon arrives at Liza's house and Bailey tells him to come in. Bailey explains to him that Liza and Colby moved out to give her time with Stuart - to decide if she wants to keep him. Damon remarks that being alone with the baby is pretty intense. He goes on to say it's big for both of them - it will cost a lot of money. Bailey scoffs that she won't be asking Liza for cash, then says she's going for a walk!

Jake runs into Bailey and the baby on his way out of town. She says they are all trying to do what's right for the baby. Bailey confides in him about Damon, saying she likes him, but isn't sure that he's ready for all this. She remarks that she looks at Stuart and knows how much she loves him - that's simple. Jake muses that he knows exactly what she means.

Jake returns to his house and tells Tad he got to thinking about Trevor, and how he didn't want to leave the little guy with David - he loves him. He says he's decided to stick around. Amanda appears in the doorway and says, "You have no idea how happy that makes me." Tad leaves them alone. Amanda tells Jake that everything has changed - David is dying!

Liza is at the hospital speaking with Annie in her room. She tells her everything should go smoothly for Adam once Annie pleads guilty. Liza exits the room and runs into Ryan who asks what is going on here - has she lost her mind? Liza tells Ryan that it's not what he thinks - Annie is going to plead guilty. Ryan wonders if she really believes that. Liza says she has to go. Ryan ducks into Annie's room. They discuss the situation with Adam, and Annie points out that she's not really guilty of anything other than falling in love. Ryan asks if she's for real - she was ready to throw her own daughter under a bus! He asks her to let go of Emma once and for all. He reminds her that she's pleading guilty and presumably going to jail. Annie looks at his face thoughtfully.

Adam is preparing for his arraignment at the station. He is surprised to see Colby come in. She says she hates Annie, but she doesn't hate him, and she doesn't want to see him go to jail. She confides that she and Liza moved out and are close to losing Stuart. Adam reassures her, then asks her to help him make a phone call. He says he's calling Liza, but calls Annie. Scott listens as Adam tells her to trust him.

JR finds Marissa at the courthouse and remarks that she must have been up early. She says that Liza called - she put her to work on his father's case! JR isn't too happy about it, but Marissa claims she's doing this for them - for their family. JR says he'll go along with it - for Uncle Stuart. Liza comes in and thanks Marissa for her help. Court is called into session and Colby joins JR in the seats - each is surprised to see the other. Adam and Scott take their places at the front.

Scott is the first to be arraigned. The D.A. says he's a flight risk, but Liza gets bail set. Adam is arraigned next. He pleads not guilty. The D.A. again asks that bail be denied. Before Liza can counter, Adam asks to speak. He tells the judge that his brother was a good man, who he still misses everyday of his life. He says that when he learned of his role in his death, he didn't think he would ever forgive himself - but that's what Stuart would have wanted. Adam vows that he wants justice for his brother. Liza adds that Adam has surrendered his documents, his accounts are frozen, and he has deep ties to the community. The judge grants bail. Colby rushes over to congratulate Liza, telling her she kicked butt. Adam hopes she can do the same for Annie.

JR, Marissa, and Liza are all back at the hospital. Liza and Marissa go in to see Annie just as Ryan is leaving. The court officials come in and her arraignment is held in the hospital room. The charges are read and Annie pleads not guilty! The D.A. says she's a flight risk, but Liza points out she just had a near-fatal miscarriage. The judge says Annie will go back to lock-up as soon as she is released from the hospital. Everyone leaves, and Liza asks Annie why she didn't plead guilty as they agreed?! Annie says it wasn't in her best interests, or her daughter's, and now Liza is going to help get her off!

JR goes upstairs in the hospital to find out his test results while Marissa's busy. The doctor tells him that unfortunately, his cancer is back - he'll need to set up an appointment. JR, upset, says he'll call.

Colby has accompanied Adam and Scott back to the station. Adam tells Colby to go ahead without him and says he'll see Scott back at the house.

Adam comes into Annie's hospital room as Liza and Ryan are bickering about Annie. Ryan turns to Annie and says she lied again! Adam walks over to Annie and remarks that Chandlers never give up, before kissing her.

Back at the courthouse, Marissa fills JR in on Annie lying and pleading not guilty. JR isn't surprised. Marissa tells him how happy she is, and he decides not to tell her about the cancer being back.
