Name me one adult male character that is not smug in PV. All of them have that character trait in them.

Ok, I just thought of the only one and that is Stuart. But I think he is it.

For me, with Ryan, it is not only his smugness, it is his selfish entitlement. He expects it all at the cost of every one else but himself. He is entitled to see his children - when the time suites him. He is entitled to a woman - despite her maritial status. He is entitled to drop off the face of the earth - despite his wife. He is just so selfish while playing the part of "poor amnesiac me." Every other villian atleast controls themselves while knowing they are villians. And for Zach, to me the good outweighs tha bad. JMO
Seriously though, Krystal, think about your daughter that is alive for a change! Remember her? Do you really want David in her (or A's) life? Give me a break.

lovesit, see I could substitute Zach's name for Ryan's in your post and it would be exactly what I think of Zach.
I mean, Zach is the man who denied his own son and then to punish said son, he married the woman his son loved.

BUT, ITA with you about Krystal.

    Hey LOVESIT,

I can Hang as you put it. I have just been too busy today to get on and post anything. I do have a life outside soapland.... If you have read back through all the comments yesterday, I had a few comments to say.....By the looks of the comments today, it is a total mess and I don't really have anything to say.... Hi JUMPS!!!! I'm still wth ya, lol....

I think I've already said this, but I am so disappointed in Amanda. Gawd, grow up and take responsibility for yourself!

jumps - You're right , Zach IS arrogant. And more than a little controlling. His betrayal of Kendall (in offering his swimmers to Binks without consulting Kendall) is staggering!! No excuses for Zach. I may love the big oaf but I'm in no way blind to his faults. Difference between him and Ryan though? Zach is not overtly abusive in general, or to the woman he's in love with. He's not walking around holding onto the moniker of Valley hero or do-gooder. Zach doesn't pretend or claim to be a better man than he is. He's not sanctimonious or self-righteous.

Zach is one messed up dude, no getting around that. He is what he is - warts and all and readily admits he can be a total bastid, but doesn't seem to relish it.

Quote jumps - """I mean, Zach is the man who denied his own son and then to punish said son, he married the woman his son loved."""

Oooh, I could see how one might look at it that way, but I don't think it happened that way. Zach denying himself to Ethan was his twisted way of ensuring that Ethan wouldn't end up damaged by that dreaded "Cambias curse" - lame as that was. And his marrying Kendall wasn't to PUNISH Ethan - at least not on Zach's part; but it was on Kendall's part.

shepmajor...you do not think that Zach is self-righteous? Kidding, right? He does what he wants, when he wants and does not care about who it hurts in the end, as long as he gets what he wants out of it. He justifies his actions because he thinks he is right and everyone else is wrong.

Sorry, yes Zach does think he is the hero to all especially the women in PV. Hmm, Maria, Julia, Kendall, Greenlee, Dixie, Erica, Bianca. Did I leave anybody out?

But like I said in an earlier post, I do NOT hate Zach. He just gets on my nerves.
