I understand where you're coming from, jumps, but I just can't give Ryan the credit that you seem able to give him. I can't recall him ever shouldering the blame for what he did to his family - at least not without him turning right around and running off after Kendall or Greenlee - making any declaration of ownership or responsibility null and void. "Yeah, it's all my fault, I really hurt my family... Hey Greens! Wait up!"

His heroics never seem to ring true, if that makes any sense. For example... why does he HAVE TO be the one who saves Emma? He didn't want Aiden or the cops or anyone else to save her, he flat-out said it HAD TO be him. Isn't it more important that she IS saved? No matter by whom?

To me that screams that it's more about Ryan than Emma for him and he's that way about everything. Also, what I haven't seen from him? Fear. Genuine fear or parental concern. I don't mean to imply that he's not out there looking or that he doesn't want Emma back. What I get from him during this whole mess is that he's just ticked off. While ticked off is part and parcel of what most parents would feel over having their child kidnapped, it's not the sum total of what they'd be feeling, is it? The vibe from him is more about his being ticked off that someone has done this to HIM, not to EMMA. That's the way it's coming across anyway.

Does he have a right to be ticked? BOO-YEAH! Royally ticked! But shouldn't he also be a little afraid? Shouldn't he be agonizing over how Emma must be scared? Lonely for her parents? Shouldn't he be worried about what they're feeding her? If she's healthy? Where is the doubt? Where is the fear that he may never see her again? Where is the REGRET and the GUILT that he blew his daughter off - in the midst of a nasty storm - to go chasing after Greenlee?

Winning points for saving Emma from the fire? Eh, sure, I'm glad he did. Does that make him a hero though? Isn't it what any parent would do - regardless? Anyone who got there before Ryan probably would have done the same thing, so... I dunno. I guess I just can't give him extra credit for doing what he should have done a long time ago: Safeguard / look after his family.

    *sheepish grin*

I admit, there is a LOT Ryan would have to do in order to gain back any of the respect I once had for him. A LOT.

I guess midnightblue07 really couldn't hang - too bad. People shouldn't get so worked up over a tv show. Just have fun talking about it!

Shepmajor-Well said. I have felt the same way about Ryan. For some reason his actions, however pure, come off as arrogant. I really bothered me that he sent Emma with the babysitter to the movies or whereever during a major storm and never wondered if she was okay. He just had to find Greens. I said before both Annie and Ryan are disfuctional parents and I feel so bad for Emma. Imagine what Emma will be like when she's a teen? The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree/trees!

    Great comments. I've enjoyed today.

I have a theory regarding Zach, Aiden and Anne. Maybe Zach hire Aiden to keep tabs on Anne?????? Since Zach blackmailed Anne and Aiden assisted in the kidnapping.......

The way alot of you feel about Ryan, his actions being arrogant and all is the way I feel about Zach. Yet, Zach is a good guy and a hero to boot, even after all the people he has hurt.

    Different strokes for different folks!

jumps, I do get what you are saying about zach and yes, he is arrogant and controlling but there is a softer side to Zach that I just don't see with Ryan. He goes from one passion to the next too quickly for my liking. It's probably like you said, different strokes, but Ryan lacks the warmth I see in Zach. JMHO

Ryan, I cant stand him, he is way to smug. He thinks he is the man for the job, he has to be in charge. He punches out a cop in PineVally and gets away with it, then he punches one in Puerto Rico, and takes a gun from another cop, he is above the police over in Puerto Rico he is calling all the shots. Please writer get real. For one he is not a cop, two he is in a different jurisdiction. As far as Him and Greenlee together, not my favorite couple dont like them together, I liked Greens and Aidan together. And why is Rebbecca Leaving anyways, didn't she just come back. Now she wants to leave again.

    Sunflower23........LOL.....anybody you do like?

btw, I don't hate Zach like most here do Ryan. He just really peeves me off most of the time.
