Annie makes a resolution, Kendall's family rallies around her and Madison changes her mind.
Ryan gets a call at home from Frankie about Kendall being in the hospital. Greenlee leaves to take care of the boys as Ryan calls Annie, who is anxiously waiting for JR, to stay with Emma.
JR arrives at Annie's hotel room, but she has to go to Ryan's. She asks him to come with her, but he thinks it's too risky. She's disappointed they won't be spending New Year's together, but he promises to make it up to her tomorrow. She repeats, "Tomorrow. There's always tomorrow."
JR, Caleb and Asher all find themselves sitting alone at ConFusion. JR starts to taunt Caleb, as Asher walks over. JR snidely toasts to Caleb and leaves. Asher wishes his father a happy New Year and leaves as well.
Annie arrives at Ryan's and lets it slip that she was supposed to be with JR tonight. She tries to explain to Ryan that JR isn't just stashing her away in the hotel and that they really care about each other. Ryan becomes worried about her, but Annie assures him she's fine and she won't end up back in a padded cell. Ryan leaves to visit Kendall and Annie declares she will never again be the other woman. Annie gets a text from JR who instructs her to open the door if the coast is clear. She does so and excitedly pulls him inside and kisses him. She tells him he's not going anywhere because they are starting the year off right. JR reminds her they can't do this there, but states there's something about her that keeps him coming back. She says, "Here's to 2011. The year I become your wife."
Greenlee heads over to Kendall's house to relieve the nanny, but finds Madison there instead. Madison explains she was invited over to watch the ball drop, but Kendall was already taken to the hospital by the time she got there and the nanny had to leave. Greenlee gives her information on an interview she set up for her in New York. Madison starts to rethink moving her entire life in the middle of her pregnancy, but she knows leaving is best for everyone.
Erica breaks away from her kiss with Caleb on the rooftop. She blames it on the emotional situation they are in, but Caleb thinks their kiss was always going to happen. She asks him not to tell anyone Kendall shot David and he responds that whatever happens between them stays between them. She thanks him for protecting her daughter and leaves.
Erica returns to the hospital and finds Bianca and Jack. Jack apologizes for fighting with her earlier, but a guilt-ridden Erica assures him she's not even thinking about that right now. Jack asks where Erica went and she explains she was talking to her mother and Zach to ask them to keep an eye on Kendall. She then tells him her New Year's resolution is to never take him for granted. They hug as they both declare their love. Bianca sees Caleb in the hallway and walks over to him. Caleb encourages her to look out for her mother.
Griffin finds Minister Ricky standing over Kendall in her hospital room and angrily tells him he knows who he is and there are no visitors allowed. Griffin says Kendall doesn’t need prayer, she needs antibiotics. Ricky thinks she can use both and wonders if Griffin has a problem with religion. Griffin brushes him off and Ricky leaves, as Kendall wakes up. Griffin allows Erica to visit with Kendall, who tells her mother she's scared. Erica assures her everything will be fine, but Kendall keeps getting a panicked feeling like she can't get away from something. Erica just wants her to keep positive thoughts and know they all love her.
Madison finds Bianca at the hospital and tells her Greenlee is with the boys. Madison wonders if Kendall regrets staying in town instead of going back on the yacht with Zach. All Bianca knows is if she didn’t stay, she wouldn’t have her family and friends to support her and that's everything. Bianca walks away to check on Kendall, as Ryan walks in. He tells Madison wherever she ends up going he hopes it's what she's looking for. She hopes so too and walks away. Bianca returns and sees Ryan and tells him Kendall can't have any more visitors so he should just go be with Spike and Ian.
Bianca returns to Kendall's room. She becomes worried about her mother when she won't leave Kendall's side and wonders what's going on. Griffin walks in and Erica makes it clear to him how special and important Kendall is. Griffin just smiles and says he understands. Bianca and Erica head out to the hallway, where Jack gives them plastic cups to toast getting through this together. As they drink, Erica sees Caleb.
Elsewhere at the hospital, Madison cries as she thinks about leaving and thanks Frankie and Randi for being good friends. They tell her she doesn’t have to leave.
Ryan walks in Kendall's house and finds Greenlee and Spike sleeping on the couch. Greenlee wakes up and he gives her a kiss. Ryan and Greenlee toast to 2011 but are interrupted by Madison calling Greenlee to tell her she's not leaving Pine Valley. Madison still doesn't want to tell Ryan though because this is her baby.
