Jake opens up to Amanda, Griffin stops Kendall and Madison gets a surprise.

At Krystal's, Jake suggests to Amanda they go away for the holidays. Amanda wants to, but she volunteered to do a lot of work at the Miranda Center this month. Griffin enters to pick up some take out and tells Amanda how great it will be have her at the center. He leaves and Jake wonders why Amanda didn’t tell him she would be working with Griffin. She assures him her volunteer work has nothing to do with Griffin, but she wonders what Jake thinks he would do to her. Jake doesn't trust him since he already took Cara away from him. Amanda wants Jake to trust her. He says he does and apologizes. She wants to know about Cara and Jake finally starts to open up about his time in Africa. He admits he couldn’t have gotten through some things there without Cara and that he loved her. He assures Amanda that he's moved on though. Amanda knows how much he loves her, but asks if he still has feelings for Cara. Jake says no, but he does have questions. However, it's good Cara left him because now he has her. He asks Amanda to forgive him for not talking to her about this sooner.

Bianca talks with the reverend at a table in Krystal's about how devastated Kendall is about Zach. He thinks it sounds like she needs someone to take care of her too. She tells him she has a wife, but she's in France. She tells him to wait at Kendall's place for her and he leaves. Bianca gets a call from Reese and she tells her she misses her.

Greenlee and Ryan reunite after her trip to California at his place. Ryan doesn't want to miss anymore time with her and promises they won't let each other go again. They kiss, but Greenlee can't stop thinking about Kendall. She blames herself for marrying David which resulted in Zach's death. Ryan consoles her and they both leave for the hospital.

Randi and Frankie visit Madison at the hospital. Frankie expresses his anger towards Ryan for hurting her and he's not just talking about the bullet wound. Madison defends Ryan, but Frankie thinks she deserves better. Ryan brings Emma to see Madison. Frankie gives Ryan the cold shoulder and walks out of the room. Ryan follows him and tells Frankie he knows he hurt Madison, but Emma misses her and he wanted them to spend some time together. Back inside the room, Madison tries to explain things to Emma, who misses her. Randi leaves with Emma, as Frankie orders Ryan to keep his visit with Madison short. Ryan reenters the room, but Madison tells him to stop coming around because it's too hard for her. Ryan will always want what's best for her and leaves. Frankie returns to Madison and tells her she's pregnant.

As Kendall stands over David in his room with a pillow, Griffin walks in and stops her from doing anything. Kendall breaks down in sobs saying that David killed her husband. He understands she is overwhelmed with grief, but he tells her no matter David did, she cannot play God. Kendall counters her husband is at the bottom of the ocean because David played God every day of his life. Griffin tells her he is required to report this and asks if she would have gone through with it if he hadn't walked in. She doesn't know, but he tells her this is no way to handle grief. She wonders if he ever lost someone he loved, which ripped his heart out. He hasn't, so she tells him not to lecture her on grief and loss. His job is to save lives and protect his patients no matter who they are. Greenlee walks in wondering what's going on. Griffin doesn’t tell Greenlee what he walked in on and Kendall leaves. Griffin follows Kendall out in the hallway and tells Kendall they aren't through. He wants her to start thinking about the rest of her life and suggests she start healing. He warns he will call the cops if he finds her in David's room again.
Greenlee tracks Griffin down in the breakroom to find out what Kendall was doing in David's room. He suggests Kendall needs to go to grief counseling. Greenlee will do what she can to get through to her, but she still wants to know what Kendall was doing with David.
Greenlee returns to David's room and fusses over him, as Ryan walks by and sees her.

Jake and Amanda go to the hospital, where Griffin sees them kiss. He calls Cara and tells her to forget about he said about Jake, because he's happy. Griffin wants her to stay away from Jake.

Kendall enters her home to find Reverend Torres who tries to offer Kendall some comfort. He says people heal in their own time, but Kendall wonders, what if people never do? She doesn't know who she is anymore without Zach. He says even though Zach is gone, it doesn't mean he can't help her find her way. He encourages her to keep Zach with her and let him live on inside her. He gives her his card in case she ever wants to talk. He also suggests she come to the new school he's helping build to hammer out some of her frustrations. She asks him to perform Zach's service and he says it would be his honor. He leaves and Bianca stops by to see her sister. Kendall thanks Bianca for sending Reverend Torres over, but she doesn't think she will ever be okay. She'll try though.
